@LabPadre@elonmusk Larger glass that is unsupported except round the edge definitely will vibrate more. Look at @JoeTegtmeyer or @esherifftv footage for a good example.
@MarioNawfal To their credit the chances of the gov doing this are zero, they concentrate on likely scenarios I suspect. Would however be nice for them to try and lead our wayward gov in the right direction.
@RyanHansenSpace@SteveinATL@booster_10 Yes as far as being able to get through the reentry heating weโve seen starships being very resilient to complete and deliberate tile loss and still being controllable. Lots of work to do on reusability, but for a once off catch this is not going to be their main concern.
@zhaphod@CSI_Starbase Expect weโll see increases by the end of the year. Still early days in many was for both these starship and starlink versions. They are really going to want to do real world testing on those starlinks especially before ramping up.
@ArguesWithSpuds@PhilHollowayEsq Ok so if an officer has the right to be in a bull paddock he should simply walk in there? How about a bear enclosure at a zoo?
@aswern88752@SpaceX Itโs nitrogen, it requires huge amounts of pressure to push the water out of the tanks. They generate nitrogen gas from liquid nitrogen and vent excess pressure to control the rate of the water being expelled. Once they finish the burn they vent the pressure in the tanks.
@cnunezimages@SpaceIntel101 Looks like they are doing checks to confirm if the tiles properly contact the ship. May be gasses getting under the tiles or they rattle too much if too loose?
@CSI_Starbase@J_A_Rees_94 Like TPS and raptors, there will be parts of GSE that will undergo incremental refinements over the long term. Typical S curve situation, the highly experimental phase is over and a lot of the big gains have been made. Ongoing refinements will continue as secondary issues arise.
