@Matthew_Lake182@davidasinclair He ignores it. I think that's ok for now. Partial cellular reprogramming is hopefully going to do a lot of good. And it needs to be promoted. Selling people on the hype helps get these kind of studies out. And they will help buy us more time to get the other issues ironed out too
@misraetel The difference is that there's no evidence UBI will be a thing, and almost every job a human could try to do, a robot or AI will be more competitive. This isn't just another technology, it's a human replacement. We have to be more cautious.
@newstart_2024 But that still makes no sense because no cell or structure would not at least be influenced by processes that are built from each, in a thousand ways whether that is in molecular behaviors or sensitivities to different factors.
@newstart_2024 Every single cell absolutely has every chromosome that has part from mom and part from dad. But of course, different areas of the brain are built based on different chromosomal segments and can be 100% influenced by one parent and not the other, in theory.
@gmiller I hope their security is impenetrable to any who would take it. But individual humans are never secure. No doubt the govt is seizing that tech for their own use ASAP. Under the order of national security.
@gmiller@ArtemisConsort But what actually makes the most sense to me is that we are in fact early in the universe and if there is some supernatural it's not so perfect yet. I don't think this is the case but maybe some of the stuff people report is in fact future advanced humans visiting us. Imperfect.
@gmiller@ArtemisConsort Unless you can believe the suffering isn't unbearable and is all for our own growth even if it seems totally horrible. Mormons and others view it that way and although I'm no longer Mormon I haven't had as close to a decent perspective on it. I don't think a god must be all good.
@pharma_gen_dan@davidasinclair Because it's not supposed to be an improvement. It's supposed to be normal. The headline should be that a *lack* of a few minutes of incidental vigorous exercise *worsens* all-cause mortality.
