The wildest thing I saw in my 6 years as a Chase Bank manager was a single guy (54) that over 18 months wired 600-700k to his "finance" in Nigeria.

He was a lineman & gave away his entire retirement to some scammer.

I sat him down a dozen times telling him this was a common scam.

We showed him others that got scammed exactly like this.

We filed SARS (suspicious activity report) & escalated it up the chain, but ultimately it was HIS MONEY & he could do what he wanted with it.

I quit that job many years ago, but always wonder what happened with that guy......

The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, has warned that its informants and agents could be targeted and assassinated if it makes the alleged drug trafficking record of Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu public.

The FBI issued the warning in a court filing while responding to a Freedom of Information Act, FOIA, lawsuit before Judge Beryl Howell of the US District Court for the District of Columbia in Washington, DC

🚨 NIGERIANS, THIS IS A MAJOR UPDATE ON THE TINUBU FBI CASE.

The FBI has now confirmed to the court that its search produced 399 pages of documents linked to President Bola Tinubu.

399 pages.

Let me tell you what the court filing says those pages contain.

According to the FBI’s own filings:

➡️ Heroin-residue laboratory testing
➡️ Controlled drug purchases involving a cooperating witness
➡️ Confidential informants
➡️ Federal grand jury activity
➡️ Prosecutorial reports and meetings
➡️ Surveillance
➡️ Undercover operations
➡️ Financial seizures
➡️ Bank account seizure warrants
➡️ IRS criminal investigation material
➡️ International investigative coordination

This is not simply a civil forfeiture case involving an old fine from the 1990s.

These are categories of records associated with a serious federal law-enforcement investigation.

Grand jury activity.
Undercover operations.
Cooperating witnesses.
Surveillance.
Financial seizures.

And the FBI says its search located 399 pages of responsive records.

Now go back to what Tinubu’s lawyers argued in the filing I showed you in the attached post of this series.

They argued that these records should remain private because they concern a “private individual.”

They argued that the Nigerian public’s interest in Tinubu’s background does not give us a legal right to these records under FOIA.

They also argued that his privacy interests should remain protected because the records relate to a period before he became a public official.

In other words, they are arguing that what he did before he became a politician should be permanently sealed.

Tinubu has not been convicted of drug trafficking. That remains true and must be stated.

But the question is no longer whether serious law-enforcement records concerning Tinubu exist.

The FBI has confirmed that responsive records exist - 399 pages of them.

The question now is:

What is in those 399 pages that he has spent two years and significant legal resources trying to keep Nigerians from seeing?

Because these are not 399 pages of somebody’s social media gossip.

They are FBI and other law-enforcement records.

And the categories identified by the FBI include some very serious investigative material.

Nigeria.

This is your President.

Read the documents yourself.

Ask questions.

Don’t let anybody tell you what to think.

What was President Bola #Tinubu’s connection to the reported heroin-trafficking organization to warrant 399 pages of responsive FBI records?

I want to thank President @realDonaldTrump and the entire administration for being this transparent, unlike the @JoeBiden administration, which refused to even admit that it had files on Tinubu. The #Trump #DOJ has shown that it takes Tinubu’s claims that his life will be in danger seriously and is following the law, while at the same time making it known that the records concerning #Tinubu are tied to a serious drug-trafficking investigation.

Update: This morning, President Bola Tinubu (@officialABAT) pleaded with the court not to order the @TheJusticeDept (DOJ), @FBI, and @DEAHQ to release his alleged heroin-trafficking records. President Tinubu finally admits that the dispute involves criminal records concerning him and pleads with the court to block the records from being released.

President #Tinubu cites his right to privacy as the reason the alleged #heroin-trafficking records should not be released and states that the records are being sought “to influence politics in a foreign nation” (in other words, to make him lose the upcoming #Nigerian presidential election).

President #Tinubu goes on to essentially argue that even the Nigerian public’s interest in his background and fitness for office does not give the public a right under FOIA to obtain the withheld information in his law-enforcement records. Nigerians, this is your President.

Not his press conferences, not his interviews - I wonder how he will manage to inspire our players.
