@lifewocd I have ocd too. You are ok. Saying things like this helps keep the disorder alive. That statement alone is like pouring gas on the fire. Resentment towards ocd is arguably the most toxic thing we can do. I know. I did it forever.

@freemefromocd And I know that you’ve been through it all and you’re not looking for ‘help’. And these words dont help the pain. But ‘perspective’ is everything. Absolutely everything. Tools like ERP are just a means to an end, which is the perspective of irrelevance.

@freemefromocd Sorry to hear that OCD has been so cruel to you. I don’t have it as bad, but it’s been very bad at times. For me, I feel like I turned a corner when I gave up. I know in my heart it’s an overactive brain. It’s going to be as painful as it wants to be. And that’s it.

@ocdrecovery As always, insightful. In a similar vein, I always try to convey to others w OCD that ERP is a means to an end, not the end. ERP is a tool to help someone practice the concept of irrelevance. But only the true belief in irrelevance will bring change over time.
