@tomasavisa@dpoddolphinpro I mean. Once several companies can bring large payloads to orbit using reusable rockets. Then the next steps are probably things like orbital refueling, nuclear propulsion, and continuing to squeeze every last drop of efficiency you can out of a rocket.
@CRBONES3@NASAMars Part 2 of my comment. There are no rules saying an asteroid can't be a moon if it gets caught in an orbit. In fact, many moons probably used to be asteroids.
As for Phobos and Deimos around Mars. It remains unproven if they are asteroids or not. But, they are moons either way.
@CRBONES3@NASAMars It doesn't matter if it's round or not round. As long as it's in a stable orbit around a bigger object, then it's a moon.
Sure a lot of popular moons are big and round. But Juputer/Saturn/Uranus/Neptune officially have hundreds of moons, most of which are lumpy potatoes

@SirSardonic@elonmusk@DJSnM First, if they are catching the ship, then they can't catch the booster because the ship needs to occupy the tower instead. Second, yeah either way booster needs to prove it can soft slash down reliably.

Slowing it down with the engines, requires more fuel. More fuel means less space for payloads.
But slowing down with the atmosphere is free.
@Eric3Gribble@dpoddolphinpro Ryan Caton never claimed that the satellites would be fully orbital, he only said that they would attempt to connect to ground stations and other starlinks.
There is no reason that can't be done on a suborbital flight.
@US_Citi_zen@RapidResponse47@NASAAdmin@POTUS Thats a lame saying, and the rest of the space industry has already proved it wrong. Take a look at SpaceX and Rocketlab, they regularly launch rockets with low costs, high speed and reliability.

And waiting around three years to perfect every mission isn't good enough.
