@Stephenmevans1@Psephizo@Katie_Lam_MP@LibDems Follow the evidence, Stephen. When did the problem start and why? He didnโt fit the activists wishy-washy belief allowance, so they dumped him, even though heโd been fairly elected.
@DorianHunky@CF_Farrow@LoisMcLatch Was t the time to bring their concerns up when he was voted in as candidate? Although he is quiet about his current views, his historical views are well-documented.
100% agree. The Party is founded on Gladstone's Christian principles and while many Christians disagree with each other and with other members on certain issues, we all agree with the fundamentals of community, fairness and openness to all.
The voters may be saying something to the Lib Dems that should be listened to. Tim Farron polled the highest among its MPs with over 31,000 votes and 62.7% vote share on a good 68% turnout. His Christian principles were a plus not seen as a threat. https://t.co/IAk7XeTN2d
Most of us believe in freedom of religion or belief & would be outraged if an employer discriminated against us because of our faith.
I stand with @DavidCampanale#FoRB
@milled_pepper@LibDems@DavidCampanale Donโt give up on the party! There are many good people including Christians. This is a mess and needs to be fixed, but we do everything will fix it.
Well I guess a stopped clock can be right twice a day but Ann Widdicombe is right about the @libdems journey to illiberalism and discrimination.
@DavidCampanale is not alone in being persecuted by the undemocratic grip of a few who are intolerant and undemocratic and I look forward to the EHRC investigation, and am happy to contribute.
Shocked to read of this illiberal crushing of conscience. We need more MPs -like William Wilberforce -motivated by belief and public service - not more robots. PC -political courage -not PC political correctness. Good to see poll backing @DavidCampanale @_KateForbes & @timfarron
@BobbumsUK@OIDACEurope@WStoneInsight@DavidCampanale Iโm so sorry that happened to you and that is 100 times worse than what has happened to David. Iโm also sorry for the part the Church played in your past and we are trying to sort it out. But bullying and discrimination should not be tolerated anywhere.
New @WStoneInsight Poll reveals: 75% of Brits oppose deselection of Lib Dems candidate @DavidCampanale!
Bishop Watson fears that we "drift into a society which discriminates against very able and compassionate people on the basis of their sincerely-held Christian convictions."
@WinstanN70 @benedictrogers@DavidCampanale@LibDems So that excuses the behaviour that led to the deselection? If the protagonists had apologised, maybe he could have regained the confidence of members.
