Our systematic review examining cerebrospinal fluid biomarkers associated with cognition is out now in @EJNeuroscience. We looked at synaptic and axonal markers associated with cross-sectional cognition in ageing and across dementia syndromes 🧵 https://t.co/lvZwNsoF3v
Associations between cerebrospinal fluid markers and cognition in ageing and dementia: A systematic review Fantastic to see this article published on line from the powerhouse duo of @tylerssaunders and @dannigadd @EdinUniNeuro https://t.co/V74Zxm3xDe
Saunders et al. report that plasma levels of phospho-tau181, neurofilament-light, and glial fibrillary acid protein predict steeper general cognitive decline in adults aged between 72 and 82 years. @tylerssaunders https://t.co/akbu5mouB8
Massive congratulatiosn to Dr @tylerssaunders who passed is viva with flying colors! Many thanks to excellet examiners @MarioniGroup and external Prof Paul Donaghy
New year, new paper accepted! Well done @tylerssaunders@DeclanJPKing and team for this work showing neurogranin is lost from remaining synapses in Alzheimer's disease https://t.co/X1bBafpDIA
The implications of this analysis may be far reaching - sex matters in terms of disease course in the earliest stages of AD. Implications for precision medicine, secondary prevention and mechanistic understanding - well done @tylerssaunders & 🙏🏻 @IMI_EPAD participants #epadistas
Come visit the amazing @tylerssaunders poster today 093. Learn about pTau181 in ageing and pick up a flyer for @braincomms and @BritishNeuro - I mean why waste all of the extra space on the board when I have fliers!!
Starting the slow but comfy and eco friendly trip to Paris for #FENS2022 and looking forward to some amazing neuroscience. come see @tylerssaunders poster and booths to chat about @FensKavliNet@BritishNeuro@braincomms and shout about good stuff to see!!
An excellent review of markers in the fluid of the brain and spinal cord (cerebrospinal fluid) that link to cognitive ageing and #dementia by @tylerssaunders and @dannigadd from @EdinUniNeuro.

Big thank you to all co-authors, especially @dannigadd who screened all 2411 studies with me. This was primarily a lockdown project and it's great to finally have it out!

There was some evidence for other markers associated with cognition however, the large amount of heterogeneity in the field makes it difficult to draw any firm conclusions. We summarise the review by making recommendations to improve standardisation and reporting in the field
Our research on cerebrospinal fluid markers of synapse loss/neuronal injury and cognition is live @EJNeuroscience. Congrats to @tylerssaunders
for leading this work - he created this visual showing the markers included in the study. https://t.co/eLQ5K64BCU
