BREAKING: California is building its first new steel mill in over half a century.
Pacific Steel Group is investing $700 million in a steel production facility in Kern County, designed to melt recycled steel and manufacture rebar for critical infrastructure projects.
$52M seed round. 15M+ users. But this is what we're most proud of yet.
Introducing Drama 3: the most emotive and controllable TTS model in the world
And yes, it's open-weight.
You can now control how even a single word should sound, change its tone, and shift your voice mid-sentence.
Uncle Roger was impressed too.

@DreamStarter_1 I like it! I love knowing every frame had thought and intent with zero interpolation. I love their movies I rewatch them a lot.
I enjoy AI art too, as long as I can feel the passion I’ll likely enjoy it, I feel lots of passion with stop motion.
Titanium is the ninth-most abundant element in Earth’s crust (0.63% by mass).
Yet globally, we produce only 370,000 tons of titanium sponge annually. By comparison, we produce nearly 2 billion tons of steel.
Figuring out how to mass-produce titanium economically will kickstart a new Industrial Revolution.
Incredible, just wow. This is what I’ve been excited to see. Renting one of these characters out, would make a lot of kid’s weeks. Once the stomping, actuator noise, and heat problems are alleviated I can see this going quite far. Marc isn’t on X, but there is @dynamicreatures
It is hard for people to resist cute, character-like robots.
Meet Hugo--a fluffy purple Tyrolean mountain troll from Dynamic Creatures, the startup Boston Dynamics' former chief strategy officer launched last month.
Hugo is meant to notice you and react to you, not replay a fixed show for the crowd. Built for theme parks, hotels, cruise ships and museums.
The company builds characters on platforms like Spot and Atlas, says they can deploy in months with leasing, and wants its own humanoid hardware next. It's already working with a large theme park and a retailer (names not disclosed).
Gemini 4 Argon is now globally available.
Built to solve your hardest problems from start to finish, the model brings frontier capabilities across coding, enterprise workflows, and cyber defense.
Straight out of a crafting menu for a video game. In the past people used to know how every part of their equipment worked, and what the parts were made out of. That changed in the computer and Information Age, but what if it came back.
Although it was before bookmarks twitter used to be a powerful tool. Especially the third party apps, some of them even had fuzzy search.
While articles, community notes, and grok are good additions, a lot of the greatness no longer exists.
A nickel and dimed future is not the future @bot.
It's not even useful either because I have way more than 20 folders and way more than 20 bookmarks per folder generally.
While I wouldn’t personally pilot robots around kids, these kids will be growing up around them in everyday life. What kind of world will they grow up in, what will be considered normal. I’m curious.

Perceiving the environment, understanding spatial constraints, and coordinating whole-body motion are essential for humanoid robots to integrate into human society—and remain major challenges in robotics.
To address this, the Galbot team introduces PASSAGE, a framework that combines environmental perception, whole-body motion planning, and closed-loop control, enabling humanoid robots to autonomously plan and execute flexible traversal motions based on their surroundings.
Built on 100 hours of human data across 1,500 scenes, it achieves 98.67% success on the Clutter Scene Traversal benchmark.

The vocabulary moat for LLMs is so weird. Spent time trying to get something to work for an hour, then used correct terminology and it did exactly what I wanted in 5 minutes.
The muse labubu mascot stuff is kind of forced. Labubu itself was forced so I guess it fits. It’s probably good though, but I wouldn’t know, the weights for spark 1.2 still haven’t released like they were promised.
This was just a Disney style acquisition. They take the companies employees and have it self destruct, then buy the assets at a discount. Waaay cheaper than outright buying.
DirtyMoCap recovers 3D human motion from noisy markers. No marker labels or predefined layout.

No More Hand-Cleaning Mocap: AI Recovers Full-Body Motion
DirtyMoCap turns sparse, shuffled and noisy optical mocap markers into clean full-body motion. One trained model works for any marker setup.
Highlights:
• No marker layout or labels needed
• Handles dropouts, ghost points and jitter
• Recovers body, hands and shape
• CUDA solver up to 100x faster than PyTorch
• Rebuilt 3 hours of old kung fu mocap

@teortaxesTex It will hurt, but they literally won’t upgrade their cybersecurity unless it does. Everyone had plenty of warnings. Now they’re scared out of their wits and are taking proactive measures. Good.
All this hacking cybersecurity stuff is the immune system adapting.
If this was closed source and businesses didn’t adapt because of false security, it would do substantially more damage. Now that companies are getting scared, they will develop tools and improve security.
