The new New England Journal of Medicine paper on transdermal estradiol is a great reminder of a question my attending asked during fellowship:
Why does STAMPEDE keep producing practice-changing trials?
The real answer sits in its MAMS design.
Seguiremos comparando prostatectomias versus RT+ADT en pacientes de alto riesgo… aun sabiendo que luego de más de 2 años de ADT cerca del 50% de los pacientes seguirán castrados de por vida?
We will continue comparing prostatectomy versus RT + ADT in high-risk patients… even knowing that after more than 2 years of ADT, near 50% of patients will remain permanently castrated?

IT IS THIS TIME OF THE YEAR AGAIN!
TOP 10 GU clinical trials in 2025!
1/ Practice-changing IMvigor011: In ctDNA+ MIBC post-cystectomy, adjuvant atezo improved DFS (HR 0.64) & OS (HR 0.59) vs placebo. ctDNA- pts spared therapy w/ 2-yr DFS ~88%.

Un residente brillante que será un urólogo sensacional.
Enhorabuena!!! Zorionak!!!
As presented at #ASCO25: In the phase 3 CREST trial, the combination of subcutaneous sasanlimab, an anti-PD-1 inhibitor, with BCG induction and maintenance treatment significantly improved event-free survival vs. standard of care therapy https://t.co/RzkuicwrI5
At #ASCO25 : New Nectin4/PD1 combo data with response rates similar to EVP in bladder cancer. Also DV/toripalimab is better than chemo (press release). There multiple ways of beating 1st line chemo in UC. As chemo becomes less relevant a key question is around ADC sequencing
Excellent review in @JCO_ASCO 🌟

Excited to share our latest work, now out in European Urology!
We followed >166k prostate cancer survivors (1999–2019) using SEER-Medicare. RP+EBRT had the highest risk of urinary adverse events. EBRT surpassed RP at 10 yrs (with BT) & 14 yrs (alone).

Radical cystectomy vs bladder-sparing therapy for recurrent high-grade non-muscle invasive bladder cancer: Results from the comparison of intravesical therapy and surgery as treatment. The #CISTO study. Presented by John Gore, MD, MS, FACS @UW. #AUA25 written coverage by @chavarriagaj@UofT > https://t.co/kpOoHUT2W5 @AmerUrological
Our patients have spoken! #AUA25
At 12 mos, patients who underwent cystectomy reported better overall well-being – mental, emotional, and financial!
Physical function was comparable between bladder-sparing therapy and radical cystectomy.
@BladdCancerUS @angiesmith_uro
Radical cystectomy vs bladder-sparing: QOL better (!) and less anxiety in radical cystectomy in the large prospective observational CISTO study. Surprising results and food for thought! Congrats @angiesmith_uro and team on an impressive effort. @AmerUrological
