Just as with every bear there sprout new, and more compelling reasons than the last bear for why we'll never stop going down....
So too in every bull there sprout new, and more compelling reasons than the last bull for why we'll never stop going up...
Notice.
$100K BTC is the ultimate marketing event for Bitcoin.
Bitcoin will be front page on every financial news outlet in the world tomorrow, creating the biggest signal in years that it’s time to pay attention to crypto again.
The party is now beginning.
If you think peak life in your 20s is getting a lambo, smoking a Cuban & wearing a Rolex
And posting pics of your gf half clothed on the bed next to you (back only for privacy ofc)
Not only have you not peaked
But your development has likely been completely stunted to the point of no return
30s are gonna hit like hell.
Plus you probably missed out on the all real pinnacle moments of your 20s
Freedom. Opportunity to fail. The angst of delayed gratification. Being broke. Rolling the dice a million times. Actually sitting & learning from someone with experience.
You’ve heard of youth being wasted on the young. But in your case, old age was wasted on the youth.
You think you’re an international businessman at 22 just because you have a VA in the Philippines.
Be humble.
Ambition is patient.
Desperation glows bright but dies fast.
You’ve built the kingdom but don’t have the wisdom to wear the crown.
You can’t acquire the mindset with $100k down.
Letter to my 2017 bull run self
You’re lying on the concrete floor of the Century City parking garage right now.
You’re on break from your job in the stockroom at Eataly.
You probably stole the artisan Iranian yogurt for lunch again, $10 for 8 oz, fuck em.
Your apron and vaguely racist Italian hat are the only things covering your shattered ego from the industry execs you thought would be shopping your scripts, now shopping for prosciutto and capocollo floors above you.
But, you have hope. As much as you want to visit Mike Neel, you won’t. Besides, you already made it out of Vegas, how hard is Beverly Hills?
You have $400 in a Binance portfolio you refresh on a sketchy app on a phone you make payments for. Buy DRGN and VIA, taking about Disney rumors and Amazon partnerships.
You’re going to round-trip your four-figure profits but the inertia keeps you afloat.
Over the next year, you’ll work a few crypto jobs. Some will screw you more than others. But you’ll learn a lot and you’ll gather stories.
You’re going to develop your writing.
None of those jobs will cover your rent, and you pay more to your editor than your first book makes. You’re going to borrow money from your rich poker friend. You’re going to want to give up but you’ll tell yourself that if the best gambler you know is willing to bet on you, maybe he knows something you don’t.
You make a Twitter. You make friends. They help you.
You go by “Blockhead,” don’t ask. Just tell the truth and don’t only make fun of people for being broke, or messing up, make fun of everyone. People will be so upset they get you banned from OpenSea. Oh yeah, you made an NFT collection. It’s good but it flies under the radar. The right people like it though, so that makes it better.
You keep writing.
I won’t get into specifics, but you get luckier than you should.
And you won’t believe what you get paid to write, so I won’t tell you.
You pay back your poker friend. You buy a car to replace the Audi you junked from your English Professor / Ex. You move, buy furniture, save a little. You get a good job.
You’re able to give yourself peace for the first time. Only someone who grew up afraid and isn’t any more knows what I’m talking about.
You get perspective.
You escape LA. You find where you’re supposed to be and who you’re supposed to be with.
Most of the betting you do now, you do on yourself. You learn most people are good, or want to be good, they just don’t get the chance very often.
It doesn’t happen all at once. Like anything of value, it takes time. But other people help you, let them. With their selflessness and love, you grow. You mature. You slow down.
I guess what I’m saying is you have a long way to go from lying alone on the concrete floor, but it’s worth it.
People don't struggle with addictions, they just haven't found any meaningful purpose yet.
When you truly want something, you want to put all the odds on your side, you optimize your diet, habits, lifestyle,
you no longer waste time with what won't get you closer to your goal.
Start with the thing you are most motivated to do. Start with a small behavior and do it consistently. This will not only feel satisfying, but also open your eyes to the type of person you can become. It does not matter which domino falls first, as long as one falls.
Worrying about the how/when of your dreams coming true creates resistance. Relax and trust the Universe has your back. Take steps when guided, then let go. What's meant for you cannot be stopped.
Basics are The key
1. Define your risk tolerance carefully.
2. Plan your goals & Stick to your plan.
3. Begin with small sums, increase the size of your account via organic gains, not by greater deposits.
4. Focus on a single pair, expand as you better your skills.
Save this.
