🌳 Growing Resilience, One Tree at a Time 🌍
On behalf of the Chipinge District Ward 19 community, we are proud to announce the arrival of 8 000 fruit trees from @FAOZimbabwe to be planted across the ward creating vibrant fruit orchards under the Transboundary Integrated Sustainable Management of the Miombo Woodlands Project.
These orchards are more than just a source of fruit; they represent community resilience, food security, and sustainable livelihoods. Each tree planted is a promise of nourishment, shade, and opportunity for generations to come. Beyond the harvest, the orchards will provide a steady supply of rootstocks for the nursery to be established at Muwango Agriculture Hub, ensuring continuity and growth for future farmers.
Together, we are turning dry land into living hope — building a greener, stronger, and more self‑reliant Ward 19. 🌱💪

Zimbabwe is facing the onset of El Niño, a climate pattern that often brings drought and reduced rainfall, posing serious risks to rural communities that depend on farming and livestock. This season may lead to crop failure, water shortages, and increased food insecurity if communities are not adequately prepared. To build resilience, farmers are encouraged to adopt drought‑tolerant crops such as sorghum and millet, invest in water harvesting and small‑scale irrigation, and strengthen early warning systems to receive timely advice. Communities should also explore food security buffers through grain reserves and other safety nets. By embracing climate‑smart agriculture and collective action, rural families can reduce the impact of El Niño and protect their livelihoods. Together, we can stand strong against climate shocks and ensure that no household is left behind.
This week, we continue championing effective youth participation. We’re advocating for youth space in every sector of life. And we’re developing young servant leaders who will serve with integrity. Join the conversation. #YouthVoices#YouthInLeadership@YetTrust@DiakoniaAfrica
YETT supported young people through the #SafeAndInclusiveCities Project to participate in the Youth Model Parliament at the New Parliament of Zimbabwe.
“Nothing for the youth without the youth.” ✊🏾

A seat at the table means little if you are not able to speak, influence decisions or be taken seriously. For young women, meaningful participation goes beyond being invited into spaces. It means having access to information, resources, networks, and opportunities that enable them to participate meaningfully and shape the decisions that affect their lives and communities.
We need to move beyond simply asking, “Are young women represented?” We should also be asking:
Are they being heard?
Do they have the power to influence decisions?
Do they have the resources to act on their ideas?
And are the spaces they enter actually designed to value their voices?
#HerVoice
YETT joined Parliament, the Youth Caucus and youth organisations for a two-day writeshop to shape the Youth Bill around young people’s voices, rights and aspirations. #YouthBill
Her Voice. Her Rights. Her Future. Her Community.
A stronger future begins when rural young women are given more than a seat at the table- they are given the power, knowledge, resources and confidence to lead.
