By lowering PMS1, the splice modulators reduced the rate of CAG repeat expansion, which is the first step of disease pathogenesis, making splice modulation of PMS1 a potential strategy for delaying HD onset.
I am excited to share our interesting new story for #Huntingtonsdisease therapeutics! Splice modulating drugs were/are in clinal trials for lowering HTT. We show that at high concentrations they coincidentally also target another known genetic modifier of HD onset, PMS1.
