PETER JUST EXPLAINED WHY BUILDING SPACE SYSTEMS GOT ABOUT 10 TIMES CHEAPER
Peter Beck said this on MTS. An old-style satellite network like Iridium cost about $3 billion and took more than five years.
Rocket Lab’s quick math says they can build the same kind of network for about $350 million in one to two years.
First, Rocket Lab makes most of the rocket and most of the satellite parts in its own factories. That means fewer outside suppliers adding their own profit on top.
Second, one special part can cost a lot if you only make a few. If you set up a line and make a thousand of them, each one gets much cheaper.
Third, buying Iridium is not about racing Starlink for home internet. Iridium’s radio band is a loud signal. It can get through rain and through buildings.
That kind of signal can also guide ships, planes, and armies much more strongly than normal GPS — about 1,000 times stronger.
So the deal is about defense, navigation, and safety services, NOT consumer broadband.
When one company can launch, build satellites, and run the radio service, and when the cost falls by about 10 times, more new space ideas become possible. A $3 billion plan was too big to risk. A $350 million plan is not.
Patience and Conviction.

TESLA WINS PRIMARY OEM ROLE ON 2,500 CLASS 8 ELECTRIC TRUCKS
On 22 September, Catalyst Mobility and Smart Freight Centre launched ZET SCALE. A shipper alliance ran an open contest for battery-electric Class 8 trucks.
After price, range, charging, and production capacity, they named Tesla the primary OEM for an initial book of 2,500 trucks.
First. This is not a robotaxi headline. It is freight buyers locking volume so truck makers can price at scale. Founding shippers include Microsoft and PepsiCo.
This deal will nearly double the U.S. electric Class 8 fleet, with a longer aim of 10,000 trucks and beyond.
Second. Kenworth, RIDE, and Volvo sit as secondary options. Tesla is primary, not exclusive. The exact Semi share is not public yet. ZET Financial is issuing the purchase order and leasing trucks to carriers. That is a real demand pathway, not a vague pledge.
The point is not another soft story for the tape. The point is industrial volume: Class 8 trucks, freight hubs, charging, and manufacturing cadence.
Cash follows books that shippers and carriers can actually run.

GROK IS RIDING IN THE CABIN
Elon said Grok 4.7 is doing real engineering work at Tesla. They put Grok Bot into vehicles. Drivers can check email, clean up a calendar, and hand off errands by voice.
Most AI companies sell a chat box. Tesla is using the same Grok family in two places at once.
First, overnight agents help engineers finish FSD and Cybercab work faster. Second, Grok becomes the voice helper inside the car, so owners keep using Tesla software every day.
The point is not a higher AI score. The point is that Tesla is tying AI to the robotaxi product, both in the factory of code and in the cabin.

$139M MORE MASTS. QUIET EYES FOR THE UNDERSEA FLEET
On September 21, L3Harris said the Navy awarded about $139 million to keep delivering Low-Profile Masts for Virginia-class and Columbia-class submarines.
These masts replace old periscopes that cut through the hull. They rise up with high-definition cameras and infrared sensors. That gives a quieter look and better awareness under the sea.
This is a sensors and factory story. L3Harris remains the design lead for Type 20 and Type 24.

GEK 800 FIRES. THE SCHEDULE HOLDS
On September 21, Kratos and GE Aerospace said Serial Number 1 of the GEK800 engine started successfully at Kratos’ X-58 test site.
The engine is now called F143. This starts a new ground-test program and keeps the work on schedule.
Long-range engines are a supply story first. Cheap and steady production matters more than loud claims.
The fleet needs engines that can be built, tested, and built again on time.

PLANET LAB BUILDS PELICANS IN BERLIN NOW. FIRST FACTORY OUTSIDE CALIFORNIA
Planet opened a ~5,700 m² plant in Berlin Mitte this week. It will build ~300 kg, ~30 cm-class Pelican satellites.
Production starts this autumn. The first satellite is targeted by the end of 2026. The path is about 60 satellites a year. The first Berlin-built units are set for Isar Aerospace Spectrum in early 2027.
Planet is adding about 70 people to a Berlin team of nearly 150.
Earth observation cash still sits in services and tasking. A second factory means Planet can deliver from Europe, not only for Europe. Local buyers want local production next to local eyes.
Management has flagged about $4B of identified constellation and satellite-services opportunities, with about $1B near-term. That is pipeline, not booked backlog.
Contracted backlog was about $815M at Q2 FY27.

AI FACTORIES NEED BATTERIES. NVIDIA JUST NAMED TESLA
DSX is NVIDIA’s plan for how an AI factory should get power and cooling.
On September 21, NVIDIA started a program called DSX Ready. It lists battery that fits that plan.
The first battery names on the list are Hitachi Energy, LG Energy Solution, and Tesla. So Tesla’s Megapack sits on the power side next to the GPU racks.
AI factories are not only about more computing power. They also need power that stays steady when demand jumps. Big batteries help with that. They can hold energy, cover short grid stress, and keep the chips running when the grid is weak.
A lot of the real cash often goes into power. The market still looks at the chip logo first. The hard limit is how many tokens you get from each watt and each megawatt.
Tesla Energy is the ground power business next to Elon’s compute and launch work.
Roadster’s $50k reservations and the October 1 show are extra noise. The DSX news is the main point.

THE 50-DAY IS BACK The 50-day !
The stock closed at $69.89, up about 8.2% on the day. Volume was about 25.4 million shares, roughly 1.4 times the recent average.
After the close, it still held near $70.50 in the aftermarket. Price is back on the 50-day average near $69.70.
The 10-day and 20-day averages near $64–$65 now sit below price. A strong volume day that reclaims the 50-day is structure repair, not only a bounce over $68. How to read the path up from here.
First watch $75. Above $75, the next real resistance band is about $80–$82. That zone lines up with the 200-day average near $80.60 and the August shelf. Beyond that, the August highs near $85–$86 matter.
Support sits at the 50-day near $69.70, then $68. Holding the 50-day is the story. Clearing $75 opens the $80–$82 test.

THE BUSINESS IS GETTING STRONGER. THE CHART IS STILL FIXING ITSELF
Planet just reported record sales of about $116 million for the Q2. That is up about 58% from last year. The company holds a lot of cash. It also has a large backlog of contracted work.
Germany’s civil government took Planet’s dedicated Constellation Services. That deal covers exclusive tasking, nationwide mosaics, and analytics on European cloud servers.
The stock price does not show that story yet. The shares fell into a range near $16 to $17.
Support sits near $16.00, then near the September low at $15.60. First resistance is near $17.30.
The key repair line is the 20-day average near $18.40. Price is only above the 10-day average. It is still below the 20-day, the 50-day, and the 200-day averages.
Here is the simple contrast. Contracts and Earth data cash are improving. The chart is not repaired until price closes strongly above about $18.40 with higher volume. Until then, this is a quiet shelf after a guide shock. It is not a finished breakout.

NASA PAID SPACEX FOR 3 MORE CREW DRAGON FLIGHTS TO THE SPACE STATION
NASA awarded about $946 million for Crew-15, Crew-16, and Crew-17. The money covers ground work, launch, time in orbit, cargo, return, and lifeboat duty through about 2030.
SpaceX’s Commercial Crew contract now totals about $5.92 billion across seventeen missions.
In May, NASA said it might buy up to six more flights. Only three are locked in now. The other three are still open. That is the real point. Proven Dragon cash keeps flowing. NASA also keeps room for another crew system later.
Near revenue sits in Falcon and Dragon rotation flights. The later station and ferry prize still waits on Starship when that vehicle is ready. Three missions are paid today. Three missions are held back. Watch which door NASA opens next.

WHEN FALCON CLOSES THE COMMERCIAL BOOK, ROCKET LAB'S NEAR CHANCE IS NOT PHOTOS. IT IS OPEN CAPACITY
SpaceX stopped taking new Falcon 9 commercial orders. Flights that are already booked still launch.
New commercial customers lose the easy default seat. Avio said the cheap Transporter rideshare party is finished, and stranded buyers are calling other launchers.
That changes the cash layer for Rocket Lab. Electron can sell dedicated missions to smallsat owners who used to wait for a Falcon rideshare.
When the cheap shared seat disappears, price and schedule matter more than a victory-lap launch count. The real mid-check is simple. Watch whether inquiry noise turns into signed manifests and higher average prices, not whether one more Electron reaches orbit.
Neutron is still the later medium-lift prize. The money that can show up first is scarcity rent on small lift while Falcon’s commercial door stays shut.

CENTRUS LOCKS ANOTHER MULTI-YEAR HALEU OFFTAKE
Centrus and Antares signed a definitive multi-year contract for U.S.-origin HALEU. Deliveries begin before the end of the decade. Antares is prepaying to help expand enrichment capacity at Piketon.
This is the fuel layer getting paid today. Compact reactors need high-assay fuel before they can scale. Centrus is one of the few places that can make that fuel in the United States, and customer prepayments are helping fund the buildout.
No contract dollars or volumes were disclosed. The signal is still clear: binding demand is stacking, and capacity is being funded by real offtake, not just press releases.
Patience and Conviction. Fuel cash now; reactor deployment is the second-order bid.

THE 20-DAY FINALLY GOT RECLAIMED
Today closed at $67.82, up about 6.5%. That puts price back above the 10-day near $64 and the 20-day near $65.4 after about nineteen sessions under the 20-day.
Volume was about 21 million shares, roughly 1.2 times the recent average, so the reclaim had real participation.
This is early repair. The 50-day near $70.3 is still overhead. The 10-day is still below the 20-day, and RSI is only back near 50.

WATCHING THE COIL UNDER 155, NOT A CLEAN BREAK YET.
SpaceX stock fell hard from the June spike near 226 down to about 105 in early August. That drop was real. The rebound into early September pushed the high near 155. The last close was about 151. Price is still under that high.
Support sits near 145 first. The coil floor sits near 143. Below that, 130 matters. The August washout low near 105 is the big line if the structure fails.
Resistance sits near 155. That is the real trigger. A strong close through 155 on rising volume is what to watch.
If 155 breaks and holds, the first measured target from the coil depth is about 167. The next round number is about 170. A stretch zone toward the post-IPO area is near 195. These are TECHNICAL map levels.
This chart is worth watching. It is not a clean Flagship setup yet. The bounce into the coil was hot. The coil is still short and shallow. MACD is only barely positive.
Patience beats calling the break early.

$UST 10Y: ABOUT 5% IS NOT A CRASH SWITCH
Look at the long chart first. For about forty to fifty years, the U.S. 10-year spent long stretches above 5%.
In the late 1970s and 1980s, yields were often far higher. If 5% were an automatic crash trigger, that switch would have stayed on for nearly twenty years.
Equity results in that high-yield world were mixed. There were deep drawdowns in some cycles, and there were also strong bull years while yields stayed high.
Now look at the last twenty years. A hard close above 5% is rare. In 2006, yields spent time above 5%, and the stock drawdown was mild. In 2007, yields briefly rose above 5% again, but the real crisis damage came later through credit and housing stress.
In 2022, stocks fell hard while the 10-year was still below 5%. In October 2023, the peak was about 4.98%.
Conclusion: do not treat 5% as an automatic equity crash switch. Watch how fast yields rise, and watch credit and recession risk.

GEN-3 NUMBER FIVE WENT LIVE IN HOURS. NOT WEEKS.
BlackSky’s fifth Gen-3 satellite collected and processed its first image in less than 20 hours after liftoff. That fast pattern is the real story. Very high resolution capacity is still scarce. Customers still have to choose which tasks wait. Each new satellite that turns on quickly adds decision speed, not only more pixels.
Gen-3 images show detail at about 35 centimeters. Each Gen-3 satellite is built to cost about one fifth as much as older platforms. More satellites mean more tasking choices across the day for subscription customers. The Altair exclusive optical seat was the design win. This news is the fleet filling in behind that seat.
Cash still sits in services and sovereign tasking. The tape still likes big constellation headlines. Watch whether launch to first image stays short, and whether more Gen-3 satellites reach orbit by the end of 2026.

AI-RAN : MORE AI TRAFFIC. SAME SPECTRUM. BETTER RADIOS.
AI-RAN is powerful because it turns the cell tower into a smart computer, not only a radio. Old radios mostly move bits. AI-RAN uses NVIDIA accelerated compute plus Nokia software to decide how to use spectrum in real time. That means more capacity from the same airwaves, better uplink for AI traffic, and room for AI services at the edge of the network.
Nokia says the stack has already shown more than 20% better use of spectrum, with more software gains mapped for 2027 and 2028. That is the real lever. Operators can squeeze more from spectrum they already own. They do not need a full hardware refresh every cycle. The same software path can run today’s 5G Advanced and step toward AI-native 6G later.
Cash sits in pipes and faster radio compute. Tape still swings on mood. A cool-down can cut the multiple. It does not cancel the build.

THE ATM OVERHAND IS OVER. IRIDIUM CASH IS FUNDED. BRIDGE LOAN IS TERMINATED.
BIG CELEBRATION !
This is the funding milestone the tape has been waiting for.
Rocket Lab completed the ATM share sale. About $1.94 billion in gross proceeds. About 29.3 million shares issued. That fund is for the cash side of the Iridium deal.
Then Rocket Lab terminated the $3.6 billion bridge loan commitment. That short-term bridge is no longer needed.
ATM proceeds, existing cash, and the amended Iridium loan are enough to cover the cash consideration, related debt clean-up, and fees at closing.
Read it simply. The equity raise is finished. The expensive bridge risk is off the table.
The cash portion for Iridium is funded. Closing is still aimed at mid-2027 and still needs the usual approvals.

GROK DID NOT SLIP ON SIZE. IT SLIPPED ON HOW THEY TRAIN.
Everyone stared at the trillion-parameter number. The real story is smaller and sharper.
Elon said Grok 4.8 trains on a new in-house C++ software stack. Training finishes this week. Then it starts learning from feedback runs.
Grok 4.7 is still late. He said the feedback rules may have punished long answers too hard. So the model gives up when the task gets hard. That is a teaching bug, not a missing model size.
This is why the stack matters. Better training software can beat another big number on a slide. Cash still sits in power, chips, and pipes. The tape still chases model names.
Watch the boring signal. Does 4.8 start feedback runs on time. Do they fix the teaching bug that stalled 4.7.
