@StayAwayFromLA@Dickgrams@KateCornell@markfrancisio Did I ever claim to be the owner? I think maybe you mistook me as the decision maker, the point was simply that a large company could survive, or even thrive, without Microsoft Office.
Maybe step away from the keyboard for a second and drink some water, it’s been a long day.
@dark_road_games@DougVegas@thematrixb0t … and it looks like someone is too afraid of criticism to allow for a good conversation. Typical of people and robots who do not actually like the public sphere of opinion, but are here only to enrich their own message without a dose of critical thinking or open minds.
@dark_road_games@DougVegas@thematrixb0t All of those things are consumer habits, not curator habits.
You have choices. They aren’t always the natural or easy choices, but they’re always yours.
@Austen Tell them that there are entire cottage companies whose entire business model is to lower Oracle costs, and ask them if they are surprised that such a company would exist.
@usr_bin_roygbiv This also works well if you move your work hours the other direction. In fact, maybe better if you are a morning person.
Actually, you know what? Just don’t sleep at all.
@acruiz@rmsmin@kram3rc@plankers That comment was supposed to be somewhat sarcastic, I forgot that there’s no sarcasm on the Internet.

Most of my software development with AI is actually writing agents to do maintenance. I think I maybe write like 20% of code to build new projects.
I’m probably not normal though, I’m mostly putting together demos and PoCs that need to be shared and last long enough to be used across multiple versions of a platform over time.
RHCSA still requires breaking into the box even now. Honestly, having taken that and the EMC ISM exams and the cloud vendor stuff, I still think the Red Hat model of “configure the system to match a set of objectives” testing model is superior to the abstract joke that is multiple choice.
@DecryptedTech And meanwhile, everyone in AI thinks those things are what an OS is because they have never experienced a lean and minimal OS before as a normal application (unless they are Linux or BSD users).
