Goat Theft Gangs Busted in Nalgonda
The Nalgonda district police arrested four inter-district gangs that were stealing goats using luxury cars during night hours.
👉 Acting on the instructions of District SP Sharath Chandra Pawar, IPS, special police teams were formed and successfully caught the gangs.
Key Details:
•16 members arrested
•26 theft cases – over 200 goats stolen
•Seized property:
o💰 Cash: ₹2,46,000
o🐑 22 sheep worth ₹2.75 lakh
o🚘 8 luxury cars worth ₹47 lakh
•The accused were previously involved in 30+ theft cases.
Their Modus Operandi:
The gang members conducted recces during daytime, and at night they used luxury cars to steal goats by loading them into the vehicles. Later, they sold them at markets to unknown buyers and spent the money on lavish lifestyles.
How They Were Caught:
On 25-08-2025 evening, Shaligouraram police were conducting vehicle checks near Bayravonibanda X Road. A Swift Dzire car (AP 09 BQ 3128) tried to escape. Police intercepted the vehicle and found three men and one woman inside. Using a fingerprint scanner, police confirmed they had previous goat theft cases against them. They were immediately taken into custody.
Accused Details:
•Sampangi Venkatesh (27)
•Venreddy Srinivas Reddy (44)
•Sampangi Sharada (40)
•Dasarla Vinod Kumar @ Koti (28)
...along with 12 other gang members (two are absconding).
Areas Targeted: The gangs admitted to committing thefts at 15 locations in Nalgonda district and 10 locations in Rachakonda, Cyberabad, Mahabubnagar, and Nagarkurnool districts. Police have registered cases and further investigation is ongoing.
