@sidhant@WIONews Why didn’t you ask her why she ordered the disappearance and death of political opponents during her 15 years in office, including in July 2024? Why didn’t you ask her about her cronies who amassed great fortunes including by looting Bangladesh’s banks?
Congratulations to @realDonaldTrump for getting a resounding victory in US Presidential Elections. Hope for increased co-operation between USA and #Bangladesh fostering democracy and development in the days ahead under your esteemed leadership. #PeoplesGovt needed in #Bangladesh
🚨 36 unmarked graves can be seen in Rayer Bazar cemetery in #Dhaka. Those graves were dug out between Friday late night and Tuesday night.
The bodies came from Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital, Dhaka Medical College and Hospital and Mitford Hospital.
The cemetery staff are saying that they have never seen so many unidentified bodies in their life.
Over 200 students have been killed by Bangladeshi police and Chhatra League goons. The death toll is much higher and they are doing everything they can to bury the dead in unmarked graves.

Is asking for rights and freedoms a crime? Is seeking equality and justice a sin? If not now, when will you strive for the cause of our nation's existence and the independence of its 180 million citizens?
I extend my appeal to all Bangladeshis abroad, irrespective of profession, politics and profile, to save our country in the face of ongoing genocide. This is the time for everyone to raise their voices and take meaningful actions from their respective positions. I believe, as do my countrymen, that the quest for freedom in the pursuit of democracy has never been more resonant in the history of Bangladesh.
I am shocked and aggrieved to see the pictures and videos of our children, brothers and relatives on the roads across Bangladesh, soaked in blood and subjected to assaults in broad daylight. While state-sponsored atrocities escalate with the mass murder of thousands of innocent students and pro-democracy citizens, countless people are suffering from brutal injuries inflicted by law enforcement agencies and Awami League terrorists.
Our next generation, the torchbearers of the democratic and developed Bangladesh we dream of, have shown the way through resilience and sacrifice. The onus is on the rest of us, across all socio-political spectrums, to ensure these sacrifices will not be in vain. The ongoing movement is a testament to our national unity for change, inspiring us to reform not just the quota system but the way Bangladesh is crippled under the authoritarian Sheikh Hasina regime.
Today, the 25 July, from around 9.30 am large numbers of #Bangladesh army and police came to the house of Sanjida Islam, the convenor of the organiser Mayer Dak [Mother's Call], which campaigns around enforced disappearances. In December 2013, her brother, an opposition activist, was picked up by the Bangladesh law enforcement authorities along with four other men, and their whereabouts were never known about again. He remains either secretly detained for over ten years or was killed by the authorities.
Today the army/police tried to get into the gate of the flats where Sanjida lived as well as the gate where her mother lives next door. It was locked. The army/police spent a number of hours in the lane, and took away a young man who lived in one of the houses behind her. His identity is at present unknown.
Two days earlier, on 23rd July, the police, had previously come to Sanjida's house and asked a security guard where was she was and was told by the security guard that she was not present and he did not have the keys to the gate.
The Bangladesh authorities are clearly now seeking to round up a wide circle of people, not just those involved in the opposition political parties but those who have been critical of the government. Clearly Sanjida did not have anything to do with the student protests or indeed the violence that took place afterwards. Had she been picked up, it would be an entirely unlawful and arbitary detentions - the kind of unlawful that is happening widely around Bangladesh at the moment.
This is how ruthless dictator Sheikh Hasina's police force fired rubber bullets to seven year old teenagers in Barishal.
His elder cried and angrily told the Police to fire him. The nation witnessed such a barbarism.

While exchanging views with the businessmen today, instead of admitting her crimes and apologizing to the martyrs and the nation, dictator Sheikh Hasina praised the killers—the terrorists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL)—and politicized members of the police who have been committing mass murder in the last week. Not once did she mention the lives lost, the families suffering, and their shattered dreams. Her astonishing lack of repentance and absence of remorse shows the psychopathic nature of her character. Wrongfully politicizing and threatening to kill the protesters, she has provided another evidence of her involvement in mass murder. Every involved member of the Chhatro League and the perpetrators in the law enforcement agencies should be put on trial for following Hasina’s orders to kill. I urge the international community to enlist Chhatro League as a terrorist organization worldwide.
Hasina boasted to businessmen about improving the economy. However, after more than a decade of endemic corruption, money laundering, and bank looting, Hasina has destroyed the backbone of our economy. This destruction is evident through increasing inflation, price hikes, and a reserve crisis. Apart from some corrupt oligarchs close to her family, no other businesspersons are faring well.
The dictator Hasina and her thugs from Chhatro League and the police have been conducting killings, committing enforced disappearances, and making hundreds of targeted arrests. Senior leaders of BNP and other political figures have either been arrested or become victims of enforced disappearances. Nahid Islam, the student leader of the movement, bravely informed the nation how he was abducted, and dictator Hasina’s police took his statement under duress. Reflecting the will of the citizens, he and other student leaders have vowed to continue their movement against dictator Hasina’s tyranny.
I urge all members of the international community to stand beside the protesters and our entire nation. The dictator, Hasina, must go. Her crimes against humanity must be punished.

I have been told that the government in Bangladesh has ordered the police and army to check everyone's private phone on the roads and if there are pictures or videos of the movement, they are arresting them and torturing them.

In this clear footage, you can easily notice, BA 6047 Lieutenant Colonel Md.Redwanul Islam, commanding officer of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), taking targeted shots using an AK-47 assault rifle. Simultaneously, members of the Bangladesh Police are using Chinese Type 56 SKS rifles to aim and shoot at unarmed civilians.
The use of such lethal weapons to disperse a civilian crowd is a clear violation of the Geneva Conventions; lethal force against unarmed civilians is explicitly prohibited and is classified as a grave breach of international humanitarian law. Bangladesh is a signatory to these conventions. This constitutes a war crime.
