@Scaramucci 1. The difference will be narrower if we include the saved rental from owning a house
2. They probably didn't pay $16k outright, only the initial downpayment. Leveraged returns will be higher. A person can borrow to buy a house in 1962, not so sure about buying gold.
@Owennfa Then your life will truly be over at 43 after enjoying for 6 months. You are still young, and no matter how hopeless life seems to be, you probably have a good 40 years left to turn it around.
@Tangible_Bruce He would give it up because he knows he could make it all back again given his ability. Not exactly the case for most of us. Money is a hygiene factor, you need some baseline to be happy, beyond which yeah I agree that family and health etc are more important.
@MikeFritzell There's a bunch of emerging and frontier mkts with worse corporate governance and company quality than Indonesia. Whole thing smells a little over the top.
@ptuomov What's your estimate of ERP and what is it based off? Most just take some form of earnings yield minus rf. Usually that works alright, but less so if earnings are growing significantly, which is what's going on. Whether AI driven earnings growth is persistent is another question.
@MRBullMktEver If you are picking stocks and aren't heavily weighted in ai, energy or shipping, your portfolio probably didn't do well in recent months. Most people don't show their losers.
@darioperkins He is, but compared to the other ai that sucks up too much, I'd rather discuss with a reasonably knowledgeable asshole than someone that flip flops and agrees with me wholeheartedly.
@MikeFritzell 1. Be accurate (ai is still prone to error even though it has improved a lot of the years)
2. Be categorical (ai tends to hedge its words and changes its mind too easily)
3. Be profitable (ymmv, but I don't think ai is any good at stock picking in terms of alpha)
my two cents
