I AM A HINDU.

And I do NOT need an elephant to lose its family, freedom and natural life for me to practise my faith.

Durga, just 5, has already been brought from Assam to Tamil Nadu. Shiva, only 6, is now being moved too.

This is not the tradition I want carried forward in the name of my religion.

Elephants belong with elephants & not in lifelong confinement, not transported thousands of kilometres to stand in temples for human devotion.

And it must stop here.

DO NOT BRING THE REMAINING ELEPHANTS TO TAMIL NADU.

Our faith is capable of compassion without captivity.

We have so much to learn from these voiceless souls.

They suffer hunger, injuries, harsh weather, loneliness and, sadly, sometimes hatred and cruelty from people. Yet somehow, they continue to shower us with love, trust and affection.

Look at this sweet dog simply trying to get a little love and affection from passing passengers. He isn't asking for much—just a gentle touch, a little attention and perhaps a moment of kindness.

They are truly bundles of unconditional love.

For a community dog, finding food every day can be a struggle. Finding someone who will stop, show kindness and treat them with compassion can be an even bigger challenge.

And still, they keep trusting us.

Perhaps this is what makes them so special.

We may not be able to change the life of every animal, but each of us can make a small difference. Feed when you can. Offer water. Be kind. Don't chase or hurt them. And if an animal is in need, help them or connect them with someone who can.

They ask for so little from us.

A little food. A little kindness. A little love.

And in return, they give us something pricelessunconditional love and loyalty

We have so much to learn from them. Let us choose compassion.

This stray dog was taken by @chennaicorp to the Kannamapettai pound for sterilization. A few days later, he was left back in this condition.

Seriously, does the vet who performed this surgery have a medical degree, or did he/she get the degree by bribing the university?

These kinds of vets are a disgrace to the medical profession. This vet’s medical license should be permanently revoked, and he/she should be made to go through the same pain that he/she made this dog go through.

When people in power stayed quiet while hatred and violence against dogs were being normalised, many celebrated it, some even said, We only care about cats. Now it is cats.

How long before that violence reaches another vulnerable being or humans?

An evil mind that is repeatedly enabled does not suddenly become compassionate. It escalates.

And to all those dog-haters who were advocating for cats back then did you get a taste of your own medicine?

Every life matters. These tiny souls did not deserve this fate.

Cruelty to one species is never justice for another.

A person capable of beating a defenseless animal to death with a steel rod is not just a threat to animals.

How are citizens supposed to feel safe around such brutality? This happened in Machhiwara, Punjab. A community dog reportedly lost its life to an act of horrific violence. This cannot be dismissed as just an animal issue.

Violence is violence, and impunity only emboldens it.

We demand a thorough investigation, accountability, and justice.

A tigress dies en route to the Nagpur rescue centre after being captured in Amravati, MH.

Reports claim forest teams used two tranquiliser darts. Was the dosage scientifically monitored? Did the operation strictly adhere to NTCA SOPs for big cat captures, or was it a fatal over-darting?

When habitats are systematically fragmented, wildlife is pushed into farmlands. But poor capture execution and recurring post-darting deaths cannot be brushed aside as collateral damage. Both human lives lost in these fringe zones and the life of this majestic animal are tragic outcomes of systemic failure.

We need transparent accountability, post-mortem disclosure, and answers from the Maharashtra Forest Department. Why not establish laws to punish encroachment in eco sensitive areas? Why always an animal needs to pay with its life ?

Delhi Police’s initiative is certainly commendable and can set an example for police forces across India. 👏

But meetings and assurances mean little unless they result in visible action on the ground.

Every genuine animal cruelty complaint must be acted upon promptly. FIRs must be registered without unnecessary hurdles, feeders and animals must be protected, and perpetrators of cruelty must face swift, strict and lawful action.

@DelhiPolice leadership must ensure that zero tolerance for animal cruelty is not just a statement, but a policy enforced at every police station and at every level.

Please ensure ACTION ON THE GROUND not just meetings. 🙏
