@IrmaMDv I can't think without coffee and a 12-lead, but... This looks like monomorphic NSVT. As I said... 12-lead, echo. I'd get a trop just to say I did it but expect it to be normal.
@DocPriyamMD She fits my criteria for an ACS workup. 47F, sense of impending doom (plus or minus). A quick physical exam while waiting for the ECG. I'd have already started a POC troponin.
@IM_Crit_ Not a doc, but I was in a teaching hospital as a researcher, with on-call and clinical responsibilities. I had 7 years on call every third day, post-call days were typically 12+ hours. And all my friends (residents) had the same schedule. My typical work week well over 100 hrs.
@hole1out@gtconway3d Actually, you're right. Paxton's not ethically challenged, he's devoid of moral and ethical response and is unfit to serve in any office. And he's perfectly capable of tarnishing his own reputation, professional and otherwise.
@DrPops3@JeromeAdamsMD If you'll recall, at the start of the pandemic, we were all following a droplet model as the best information available. We were also facing a PPE shortage. I also recommended not masking for a short period until I was convinced of an aerosol transmission likelihood. As did Adams
@JeromeAdamsMD I'm not certain I could make that argument in good faith. And I'm certain the people who made it starting in January of last year, and currently making it, are not making it in good faith. I fear the intent is simply to slash ability to respond.
@N95Anaesthetist Many of us have come to the conclusion that for any viral-like illness (for the sake of brevity, think ILI) our first response should be steps to limit aerosol transmission by at LEAST masking source and all providers with N95 or better.
@michael_hoerger@illumenaturale Locally/ nationality, my group kept emphasizing hand hygiene even after we were certain handwashing didn't prevent COVID because hand hygiene was a gift idea andr we after seeing an upsurge in favorable behavior. Just stopped saying it prevented COVID.
@BradBanko@grok@CDCgov ANDV is the identified variant. Only hantavirus variant with demonstrated person-to-person transmission.
I'd not consider grok an authoritative medical resource.
@MedExplained101@CDCgov There's been a lot of study on hantavirus but not nearly enough. We need the vaccines through the clinical trials sooner than later.. Lack of definitive therapy is worrysome. And no, ECMO isn't a viable treatment for everyone.
@MedExplained101@CDCgov This one's going to be complicated. Viral load is the key element for transmission but there's still a lot about Andes variant we don't know. Contagious 2 days on either side of prodromal onset so pre-symptoms... unless it's earlier. PCR might detect 2 weeks pre-symptoms.
