Irob Is Thirsty: A Call for Urgent Action 💔🌍
Irob District in Tigray is facing a severe drought after the failure of seasonal rains. For a community whose livelihoods depend heavily on livestock and limited agriculture, the absence of rain is not simply a lack of water—it is a threat to food, livestock, health, and survival.
This is more than a weather crisis. It is a humanitarian crisis that requires urgent attention.
We appeal to humanitarian organizations, the Ethiopian and Tigrayan authorities, the Irob community in the diaspora, and people of goodwill around the world to stand with the people of Irob.
Water today can mean survival tomorrow.
We urgently need:

After inflicting immense suffering upon the people of Tigray through a total siege, unabated drone strikes, and persistent harassment by its militias, the genocidal Prosperity Party government has today, 1 August 2026, brought the long-looming and precarious situation to its gravest point by launching a military offensive in the vicinity of Shererina, Western Tigray.

Since coming to power, the regime has pursued a genocidal campaign against the people of Tigray, perpetrating virtually every international crime known to humankind. Even after signing the Cessation of Hostilities Agreement (CoHA), it continued consistent with its abhorrent policies to impose a siege, undertake military preparations, and encircle Tigray in an effort to weaken the resolve of its people and intensify their suffering to unimaginable levels. This morning, in pursuit of its unfinished genocidal design, the regime launched an unprovoked war.

In response to this horrendous aggression, we call upon all our people including those in the diaspora-as well as the Tigray security forces, political forces, civic associations, religious institutions, and all concerned organizations and institutions, to stand together in defence of our national survival and existence. Guided by the rallying cry, "We Shall Never Perish," we call upon everyone to prepare to defend our rights, dignity, and survival.

We will continue to keep our people and all concerned parties informed of developments through timely statements, announcements, and briefings.

At this critical moment, we urge our people to take every necessary precaution against attacks that may be perpetrated by the regime. We also call upon the international community to follow the situation closely, properly assess the repercussions of the genocidal regime's reckless military adventurism, and recognize its grave implications for the wider region.
