Playing for Prevention | The Final - My Talent, a Pathway to Self-Reliance

The 4th Intercamp Sports and Awareness Tournament, bringing together young people from different refugee camps, is now heading to its final.
As we wait to see which team will take home the trophy, let’s also remember that mental health matters. Building confidence, connecting with others, talking about challenges and seeking support when needed are all part of building a healthy, confident and empowered young generation and a pathway to self-reliance.

Playing for Prevention | Empowering Girls to Return to School

As we reach the final of the 4th Intercamp Sports and Awareness Tournament, in partnership with @ahfrwanda , we are engaging young girls preparing to return to school.
Through an SRH education session, we discussed menstrual health, protecting their education, making informed choices, avoiding risky situations, and resisting pressure that could affect their health and future, including early pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections.
We also provided menstrual hygiene materials and other essential items to support the girls as they prepare to return to school

When girls have the right information, the right support and the confidence to make informed choices, they are better equipped to protect their health and stay focused on their education.

On Day 3 of our 7-Day HIV Awareness Campaign in Mahama Refugee Camp, RRP+ staff, together with Peer Educators, engaged young people in an open and interactive discussion on different topics, including Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT), at Mahama 2 Health Facility, supported by Save the Children.
The session created a safe space for young people to ask questions and receive clear and trusted information on HIV, SRHR and healthy choices.
Among the questions asked was how a mother living with HIV can have children who are HIV-negative, highlighting the importance of accurate information, treatment and access to appropriate health services.

Through peer-to-peer dialogue, we are helping young people ask questions without fear, challenge misconceptions and make informed decisions about their health.
