@bradymusicmun I completely agree with you Brady! I too find that live covers of songs are very enjoyable to listen to and be in attendance for. While the quality of music is not always on par with the original artists, these bands can often be very taleneted! #POPMUSS21
@HannahS99330463 I agree that cover band's do not provide the same quality of music as the original artists recorded version. However, I do think there is something to be said about the fun filled environment live music provides to listeners. #POPMUSS21
I disagree with Wald's statement simply because more times than not I prefer to listen to a cover band sing my favourite records live. The quality of the song is not always "better" however there is something about the atmosphere during live music that is so enjoyable! #POPMUSS21
@AbdulrehmanOme7 I agree with you, the racism at the time of this music is disheartening. However, I do believe that โschlockโ rock is a valid form of music and I think that despite the audience it encompassed it had tremendous success that should not be overlooked in musical history. #POPMUSS21
@MercerKaely I totally agree with you! I strongly feel that the racism this era of music held is unacceptable and disgusting. However, that is not to say that the music itself is not valid. #POPMUSS21
While "schlock rock" has been criticized for the racism it holds as it has been more popular than the music of Black artists, I do believe it is a valid form of music. The reality is that this type of music had much success and popularity. #POPMUSS21
@JeffWal77975982 I like how you mentioned the raw and realness that comes with Ray Charles music when he uses a breaking voice. It is this that gives listeners the ability to connect with him through emotion! #POPMUSS21
@NathanP48851887 I agree! His breaking voice really allows the listener to feel a connection with not only his music but with him. The use of the breaking voice sets him apart from other singers. #POPMUSS21
In an attempt to create a strong emotional connection to listeners Ray Charles used a breaking voice. His breaking voice was a unique way that set him aside from all other singers as well as allowed him to truly connect with every word he sings. #POPMUSS21
@carriedc99 I agree, music is a great way to connect with our emotions and express how we are feeling and with the advancements in listening technology this is becoming easier and easier to do so! #POPMUSS21
@KaylaSu90012739 I totally agree with you, music has become much easier to listen to and enjoy. These streaming apps also easily allow people to find friends with similar interests as them which I think is awesome and something that was not possible before! #POPMUSS21
New listening technology has given people the opportunity to connect with like minded individuals near or far. Streaming services such as Spotify allows for people to find each other and connect through music as well as express themselves! #POPMUSS21
@AidanMun Absolutely, saying music is "dumbed-down" is extremely critical in my opinion as all music requires a level of creativity and talent. After all, would the song be a hit if there was not great deal of knowledge put into it? Simplified is an awesome way to put it! #POPMUSS21
@GarrettTilley7@CaitlynBaikie I agree! I believe all music that is produced requires a certain level of creativity however as you mention when it is being produced for mass consumption the audience becomes less demanding of the product. #POPMUSS21
I feel that 'false needs' are created by popular music and the media industry through the social control they obtain. The elite groups in this portion of our societies put out ideas and expectations that are not necessarily available to all - creating false needs. #POPMUSS21
