@gosse_nicholas#W23POPMUS I agree, technology has allowed people all over the world to hear music which has lead to more audience, and auto-tune dose help clarify the music and remove any bad vocal.
@cwleamon#W23POPMUS I agree that music dose sound better from the recording since there is less interference compared to a live performance, and a persons willing ness to travel plays a part in going to the live performance.
#W23POPMUS Wald's statement is true in a since but the main reason is the concern about money since a lot of people can not afforded to attend a live performance due to inflation and travel cost, New technology and even physical copies allow people to enjoy the music at low cost.
@ceparsons01#W23POPMUS I agree since you should respect the original artist and that some people are able to reach a larger audience but the song must be done right in a way that it is not a complete copy of the original.
@awarfordmun#W23POPMUS This is completely true specially when we look at today's music scene most artist sample in some way to give there music more depth and use it in a way that dose not copy the original
#W23POPMUS artist using the term "schlock" because the music has changed is true but they should pay there respects to the original artist even tough it is change much of the music is took, in the that time they most likely saw it as if we change it then it is fine.
@jenna_hanrahan#W23POPMUS I agree the voice breaking that Ray Charles uses really dose bring forth depth and the emotions he is trying to express, and it shows how he truly cares about his work.
@amackenzier#W23POPMUS I agree with what your saying since his voice truly expresses what he is singing and the meaning from within and makes it truly his own original work.
#W23POPMUS The breaking voice that Ray Charles uses gives us a understanding that he has passion for his song and the lyrics that correspond, this allows us to recognize the music as Ray Charles form just hearing a snippet and makes us feel his emotions within.
@Victoria21Haley This is very true when we look at our society today, people focused on the materials in life and are more focused on that then the music they listen to so, some people the aspect of music becomes second to the new pair of headphones, or new speaker. #W23POPMUS
@cmurpph I agree with you on this, but we must also realize that we all listen to music in different ways and that not all of us can afford this new items and class is most sternly pushed with in the world but we should look at sentiment for value. #W23POPMUS
#W23POPMUS The development of listening services such as Spotify have influenced me to not feel limited on what I can listen to since I am able to access music from allover the globe but has not changed the way I listen because I preferer a physical copy such as a Record.
@CDRSquires Fitting in has become a big part of our society, and that can lead to people listening to things they dislike, but I feel that even with old songs you do have some similarities and each person has there own taste, but now artist try and fit in more to grow quicker
@Mijmercer I do see that the most popular music out there pushes the idea of false needs and the top songs can be "dumbed down" but I do feel that they in there own rights have a slice of the singer woven in making it unique in its own way.
#W23POPMUS Popular music can push for false needs, oriented around material items, but I do not feel that music is being dumbed down. Since most artist have there own personality's that influence, there music and the topics that they present within there songs.
