someone recently asked me about my favourite dining experience and it has got to be @OPedroMumbai— we went in a group of 4, and ordered a plate of tacos, the server immediately says, “the plate usually has 3 tacos, can i get you four?”, we blush. my friend doesn’t like coconut flavoured elements, the server immediately says, “the coconut flavour is so subtle, if you don’t like it, i’ll replace it with a dish of your choice” and gets us a repeat of the dish for free because he was right and we loved it, we blush again.

But it’s all a matter of bandwidth. Hence the bare minimum that should be done is that candidates should be informed and not kept in the dark. We all deserve better but we could begin with at least ensuring this.

@naomilars As an HR I make it a point that if I’m not proceeding with someone’s candidature I give them a proper explanation, especially if they’ve appeared for at least one interview round. If I’m rejecting someone at the 1st stage (resume not a match) then I share a generic email. (1/2)
