"NASA has said they selected the best astronauts to carry out this mission’s specific objectives. The crew consists of three experienced veterans and one first-time flyer. The absence of women on this flight has drawn disappointment from many people."

NASA has revealed the Artemis III crew — and it’s an absolute powerhouse.
Commander Randy Bresnik (@AstroKomrade), veteran test pilot, former ISS commander and USMC colonel.
Pilot Luca Parmitano (@Astro_Luca), ESA’s two-time space veteran and the first Italian to command the ISS.
Mission Specialist Frank Rubio, physician and long-duration record holder.
Mission Specialist Andre Douglas (@Astro_AndreD) on his first flight.

Behold: new and previously unseen imagery from our Artemis II mission!
These images were captured on April 6, 2026, when the four astronauts aboard the Orion spacecraft conducted the lunar flyby portion of their ten-day journey.
The central equation of quantum mechanics features the imaginary number i. Erwin Schrödinger considered it a major eyesore. Now, physicists have figured out how to do away with it. https://t.co/7bwRaUuDuf
Fermilab is bringing its accelerator expertise into the quantum era. The same superconducting tech that pushes particles to incredible speeds is now helping us build quantum systems that can detect unbelievably tiny signals in the quantum world.

Yes, it’s an all-male crew with strong military backgrounds. Many people (including me) are disappointed not to see any female astronaut selected this time.
But these four deserve our full support. They’re flying the critical dress rehearsal in low Earth orbit — testing docking and operations with the Starship HLS and Blue Moon pathfinders — before the real lunar landing missions begin.
Artemis IV is the one that should finally put women back on the path to the Moon.
For now, let’s cheer on the Fantastic 4.

The Spirit rover (Mars Exploration Rover A) left our planet to begin the journey to its new home OTD in 2003. This view captured 20 years ago at the beginning of 2006 shows rippled sand deposits of the "El Dorado" ripple field in Gusev Crater on Mars.
Designed for a 90-day mission, Spirit operated for more than 6 years on Mars. It's twin, Opportunity, operated for almost 15 years.
Webb has delivered the strongest evidence yet that its discovery of mysterious Little Red Dots (LRD) are “black hole stars.” They appear starting ~600 million years after the big bang, and scientists are still working out exactly what they are. https://t.co/MIEwfifyzi

Astronomers have found strong new evidence that some hot giant #exoplanets have magnetic fields similar in strength to those in our own Solar System.
The result comes from studying how fast winds blow across seven ultra-hot Jupiters.

From Moon joy to Earth joy, the journey continues.
Before any great road trip, you start with prep: check the weather, tune the car, pack smart.
Artemis III is no different.
We’re building our science game plan, studying Earth’s atmosphere and how space affects the human body, to ensure future Artemis missions are safe and ready for the journey.

We humans have caused numerous environmental issues to oceans, which are integral to life.
The World Ocean is habitat of 230,000 known species, but the number is much larger, maybe over 2 million (https://t.co/rjJJep7PtV).

Speaking from the heart often works surprisingly well in a public setting. It can be scary to be so vulnerable, but even if you end up getting emotional, as I did in this speech from 2012, your audience will sympathize and appreciate the honesty. https://t.co/IBGsxX4Q8G
"...hotter planets actually have slower winds. Higher temperatures ionize the atmosphere more. That lets the magnetic field interact stronger with the moving charged particles and slow them down, like a natural brake."

The ‘ten martini’ problem asks about a surprising connection between fractals and physics. It was proved in 2004, but in a piecemeal way that left mathematicians unsatisfied. Now, by developing a powerful new theory, they’ve come up with a high-proof solution. https://t.co/OBHQBBVOFX
Today, @NASA provided new Artemis III details and announced the four crew members. The mission will undertake a series of challenging tests in Earth orbit to prepare for Artemis IV.

Our astronaut Luca Parmitano is assigned as pilot of NASA’s #ArtemisIII mission.
With Europe powering Orion with the European Service Module, this mission will test the critical operations preparing for humankind's return to the Moon.
A strong step forward for ESA–NASA partnership.
