"We're all playing the buffet game! 😅 Ever noticed how everyone avoids the first plate, thinking it's 'poisoned'? 🤣 But turns out, the one you pick was probably avoided by someone else too! So, did we really avoid the 'poison', or just passed it on? 😂 #Omuhakuuzi#MagoHotel

Tanzania UK - Roadshow
Am here under a Tanzania organized roadshow, we move from city to city meeting whole sellers. By Friday each of us will have engaged 48 companies on this Tanzania roadshow.
Like I said, these are very big boys in the group, like I have always told you, one big tour operators in Tanzania can handle more business than all Ugandan operators combined including Great Lakes safaris.
We are pretty much competing for business but clearly no bad blood, we hang out together, discuss business amongst ourselves, gives me a chance to market Uganda on the sidelines too.
Thankfully, we built a fantastic and respected lodge in Uganda, everyone accepts that we did a good job and it’s now being run professionally.
The Acholis like @FGimara told me , they say a child that knows how to wish his hands, we always have chances of dinning with elders. We know how to wash our hands by Gods grace.
I have a lot of learning to do on how to grow an international brand, I get to learn how things are done at that level. Of course it’s not cheap to be part of this and how says growth is cheap?
Man, some of the whole sellers will ask if Uganda has a tourism board even, I hope the new team can change this story for Uganda. Uganda isn’t on the mind of serious operators here.
But those whole sellers who have been to Uganda, feel it’s the most beautiful country they have ever been to but they fully decide where their clients go to.
We need to do top of the mind marketing, making sure the final consumer or a tourist knows about Uganda. The final spend then approaches the whole sellers for uganda as destination.
That top of the mind push is like Rwanda on arsenal push for example. The viewers become curious about the country because of the intense push and they are pushed to put you on their bucket list.
The good news is that 6 big brands are either investing or planning to invest in uganda. They have big monies for both investment or marketing across the global, they have big networks which we can benefit from.
We shall benefit from the trickle down positive effect for that matter, our operators will learn how big businesses operate. Lots of knowledge transfer will happen. They force government to invest since they have access to leadership.
Leadership in Uganda generally speaking listens to foreigners in Uganda and both sides, we generally undermine each other something that must change. You go to ministry of finance and they fold their faces as if they are looking at rubbish, not everyone but it’s true.
What are you willing to die for?
What is your burden?
How do you channel that burden to serve in your promised land?
We cannot afford to trade our souls for short-lived gratification. We must stand firm rooted in integrity, excellence, wisdom, courage, and truth.
More than a decade ago, I sat down with @MarcMaron in his garage to tape something new called a podcast. This time, he came to me to record his last episode.
We talked about the power of conviction, decency in an age of division, and the true story of America. I’ll miss Marc’s voice, but I hope his legacy of deep conversation and connection will continue.
