We are in Glasgow to attend the C. elegans meeting 2023. PhD students Stela and Bala @RBalashankar3 are presenting. posters # B250 and B252, June 26. Please stop by the posters. We look forward to discussing with you.
We are excited to attend the Cell Bio 2022 meeting. Graduate students Stela and Bala are presenting posters (B581 Dec 4, B636 Dec 6). Shamba is giving a talk at the Subgroup: Physical Biology of the Cytoplasm.
Abstract submission for #cellbio2022 is NOW OPEN!
⭐Submit by Aug. 2 for a 40% chance of giving a talk at Cell Bio IN PERSON in Washington, DC!
⭐NEW in 2022, some postdocs and grad students who submit for talks will be selected for Symposia!

We speculate that dynamics-buffering may contribute to functional robustness of cellular condensates. To know more, check out our recent preprint. We thank @HymanLab and @PappulabWashU for helpful discussions.
Ever wonder how cellular condensates contribute to function? Can condensates deliver robust functional output in spite of changing conditions- short-term effects of chemical modifications, intrinsic mutational changes, accumulation of high local concentration of sticky molecules?
We show that weak interactions among two or more components can buffer the diffusion rate of a scaffold protein at steady levels in spite of changing conditions. We call this "dynamics-buffering". Neither chaperones, nor ATP-dependent activity of RNA helicase are required.
Are you interested in doing a shared postdoc in two labs @LabOtsuka @martens_sascha @MaxPerutzLabs? Would you like to work on #autophagy-related membrane remodelling and #CLEM? If so, apply!
