We met with congressional staff to discuss the physician shortage, IMG workforce pathways, Conrad 30 reauthorization, residency expansion, and improving healthcare access. Grateful for the opportunity to advocate for policies that strengthen our healthcare workforce and improve patient care access across the country. 🏛️🇺🇸

New results from the phase 3 BREAKWATER trial, presented by Dr. Scott Kopetz at #ASCO26, showed that encorafenib + cetuximab + FOLFIRI improved progression-free survival and prolonged overall survival compared with standard therapy in patients with BRAF V600E-mutant metastatic colorectal cancer.

The findings expand first-line treatment options for this historically difficult-to-treat patient population. @skopetz #EndCancer

🔹 Annual Medicare funding for GME stands at $16 billion (2% of total Medicare funding.)💰
🔹 Only 2% of Medicare funded GME occurs in rural areas leaving critical gaps in access.
🔹 Medicare GME funding is based on a formula tied to hospital costs from the 1980s!
🔹 GME payments per person vary dramatically by state (DC: $196.83 vs. Texas: $12.34.) ‼️
