Primarily known for their role in #BloodClotting, platelets also act as #Scavengers,

capturing and storing fragments of #DNA that are circulating in the blood, including #FetalDNA & #MutatedDNA from #CancerCells.

Analysis of platelet DNA via a simple blood test was found to reveal the presence of even #PreCancerousChanges,

indicating this may be a powerful technique for the early detection and prevention of cancer.

@MannaLiberato It is not just the salary but the mentality of the professors too, which led to immense disappointment among postdocs and needs to be changed profoundly. Even well-funded professors deliberately keep their postdocs on the lower side of the salary range set by the University.
