🛰️ e-GEOS, part of @LDO_Space, has successfully completed the validation of the Automatic Identification System (AIS) aboard the Sentinel-1D satellite of @CopernicusEU. The activity contributed to the satellite’s In-Orbit Commissioning phase following last November’s launch.

🌍 To validate the AIS payload performance, e-GEOS analysed over 60 Sentinel-1D radar images across six key maritime regions worldwide. The analysis leveraged the e-GEOS proprietary SEonSE solution to correlate vessels detected in the images with the AIS data.

💧The sustainable management of water resources is among the most pressing challenges facing agriculture. In some areas of southern Spain, water availability can cover only a fraction of agricultural needs, with serious repercussions for one of the country’s most productive regions. Innovative solutions have been experimented in this area, combining precision irrigation, constant monitoring of soil moisture and calibrated crop management.

Yesterday, at the Geospatial World Forum 2026, C. Milena A. Lerario, CEO of e-GEOS, part of @LDO_Space, joined the Plenary Session “𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞: 𝐄𝐧𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞”.

🆕 e-GEOS, part of @LDO_Space, and @veng_argentina are delighted to announce the signing of a new agreement for the distribution of data from the SAOCOM (Satélite Argentino de Observación Con Microondas) radar satellite constellation of @CONAE_Oficial, with VENG holding the data distribution rights.

🛰️The SAOCOM satellites provide day-and-night observation capabilities in all weather conditions. Thanks to the L-band wavelength, they can penetrate vegetation and soil, significantly expanding application possibilities.

🌎 In addition, the SAOCOM and COSMO-SkyMed constellations form the Italian-Argentine Satellite System for Emergency Management (SIASGE), the first integrated European-South American radar constellation dedicated to emergency management.

As the Artemis II mission prepares for launch, a new chapter in human space exploration is taking shape.

A crewed mission of four astronauts, aboard the Orion spacecraft, will fly around our natural satellite, marking a decisive step towards humanity’s return to the Moon.

The @NASAArtemis program, developed by @NASA in partnership with the @ESA, sees Italy among the key contributors, with a central role played by the Italian Space Agency (@ASI_spazio). #Leonardo, together with the joint ventures @telespazio and @Thales_Alenia_S, is supporting the mission through strategic technologies.

🚀 Artemis II is positioned for lift off at Launch Complex 39B at @NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral.

🛰️ This polarimetric radar image was acquired by one of the Second-Generation COSMO-SkyMed satellites of @ASI_spazio and @MinisteroDifesa, and processed by e-GEOS, part of @LDO_Space.

🌙 Artemis II will mark humanity’s return beyond low Earth orbit, carrying astronauts around the Moon for the first time since the Apollo era. The mission is designed to test cislunar navigation, the ability to maintain stable long-distance communications, crew operations under prolonged isolation and high-speed re-entry to Earth.

🆕 e-GEOS, part of @LDO_Space, has been awarded a contract by @MASE_IT for the satellite-based mapping of asbestos cement across Italy.

🛰️ The project leverages very high-resolution multispectral satellite imagery combined with advanced Artificial Intelligence algorithms to remotely detect asbestos roofing, supporting subsequent assessments by specialists.

🤝 In this initiative, e-GEOS leads an Italian consortium including MapSat, @planetek and @uni_cassino.

🌍 In 2026 #Matera is the Mediterranean Capital of Culture and Dialogue.

🛰️ To celebrate, we bring you a unique view from Space of the “City of Stones”, captured by the COSMO-SkyMed satellites of the @ASI_spazio and the Italian @MinisteroDifesa, and processed by e-GEOS, part of @LDO_Space.

📡 Among the world’s oldest cities and a @UNESCO World Heritage Site, Matera is where history and innovation coexist. It is home to the Matera Space Centre, a hub of excellence for #Space in the #Mediterranean, which hosts the activities of the Italian Space Agency and e-GEOS for the acquisition and processing of data from the most advanced satellite constellations, ranging from the Italian COSMO-SkyMed mission to the Sentinel satellites of the @CopernicusEU Programme. The Italian Space Agency’s Matera Space Centre also carries out research and development activities in the fields of space geodesy, quantum telecommunications and space debris monitoring.
