@pr_tanner@agueybana47@chi_urbanist Should give Arlington County and Alexandria back to DC, those areas shouldn’t have been ceded back to Virginia in the first place.
@JustinMoretti2@SecondAmendment It's not a simple thing. If, for example, you enter on a non-immigrant visa it is illegal for you to even possess a firearm when visiting the United States absent an exemption. That's federal law, I can't speak to whatever additional obstacles Texas law may or may not have.
@priceline, just wanted to publicly let you know how disappointed I was with my car rental experience in STX. Several weeks prior to leaving on my honeymoon, I reserved a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (or similar) with Budget through you. Understandably, when I picked up my rental, I was perturbed to find I was allocated a Ford Escape, not the Jeep or equivalent I expected to receive.
After going round and round with both Budget and Priceline, I was able to determine that the Jeep is a premium offering through Budget, but Priceline advertised it as a “Standard SUV,” which meant I received what Budget considers a “Standard SUV,” an Escape. Ironically, I am certain that Priceline gave me the option to select a cheaper vehicle such as an Escape, but I opted for the premium Jeep. Nobody with Budget could help me because they were sold out, and Priceline could do nothing beyond cancel my reservation (which seemed unwise because I needed a car and rolling the dice on getting what I wanted from someone else was suboptimal).
Nobody can convince me that Priceline, a major travel company who has worked with rental agencies such as Budget for decades, was unaware that they were misrepresenting the product that they offered. I will never use Priceline again and will advise all of my friends against using their services. Absolutely unacceptable. You advertised what you knew to be a premium offering, I reserved what you knew to be a premium offering, and you provided a substandard product and claimed it to be “equivalent,” knowing that what you offered was not considered “equivalent” to the Jeep by the agency you used. Liars.
@mred55556@David_J_Bier The fact that the Department of State has publicly announced an “indefinite pause” on immigrant visa processing for those 75 countries…
They didn’t post a link, but it’s absolutely true and all over US Dept of State consular pages,
@curtismorrison And don't forget that consular processing is on hold by the Dept. of State for 75 other countries, so such a determination is a de facto denial for anyone from those 75 countries.
@RealPatSpurlock@AnthrapologyX@jfbrly Marriage and immediate family visas do not have to wait for a priority date, they're "immediately available." The only wait is for the time it takes USCIS to get to your paperwork and schedule the interview(s).
@truthboldonx@TheBrancaShow The spouse visa provides legal permanent residency (green card). She would only be eligible for naturalization after having maintained a green card for a minimum of three years.
It depends upon the state. I’m not sure about Tennessee, but I know the default in Virginia where I prosecuted was for sentences to run consecutively rather than concurrently. It was exceedingly rare for my judges to run sentences concurrently, even if they came out of the same event.
@BeachlifeisB@GeorgiasGiant@ASo1omons Let me explain what he's saying... the people tweeting from their own homes got there by eating lunch for $5, proving the efficacy of what they are preaching.
He's on your side.
If you're spending $28 on lunch, every day... just imagine where else you're wasting money. I'd be willing to bet that there are thousands of dollars that could be saved by more economical breakfast and dinner choices as well. I'd be willing to bet that there's a lot more "splurging" going on than just lunch.
Generally, I'm not fond of dealer stickers, but I kept the ones on the only new car I ever purchased because I was actually very happy with the dealer. Their quoted out the door price was less than anyone else's pre-tax price (and nobody was willing to match) and I didn't get jerked around even once... when I picked up the car I noticed that it had a pinstripe on it that I didn't want and they removed it no-charge and with no fuss. I was happy to give them a little free advertising because I was going to recommend them to anyone who asked anyways.
You haven't the slightest idea what probable cause means.
It's worth noting that the offender was also shot by another officer in the parking lot who believed him to be armed. The guy didn't drop the gun, he didn't surrender, he retained the weapon and fled to an area where other individuals were present.
Your opinion is garbage. Someone wielding what appears to be a firearm and threatening to use it creates facts and circumstances which would lead a reasonable officer to believe deadly force was necessary to apprehend the suspect. You’re imputing subjective motivations without any evidence and in direct opposition to objective facts and supporting case law.
