Thanks to the leadership of @chelliepingree and @realannapaulina, as well as recent action in Vermont and California, paraquat is finally getting the attention it deserves! As the wife of a farmer, I understand the importance of pesticides in agriculture, but I don't understand why continued use of a highly toxic chemical linked to Parkinson's disease is acceptable when safer alternatives exist. #BanParaquat

There’s still time to respond to the Request for Information (RFI) on Parkinson’s disease and related neurodegenerative conditions.

This one-time RFI seeks broad public input to help inform development of the National Plan to End Parkinson’s. Responses are due August 22, 2026.

How is this different from public comments? The RFI is a separate opportunity from the Advisory Council on Parkinson’s Research, Care, and Services (ACPRCS) public comment process. Public comments are an ongoing opportunity for individuals to submit written comments or sign up to provide verbal comments that are shared with the Advisory Council.

Momentum is building to ban paraquat at every level of government!

The Pennsylvania house just passed a statewide ban, while Michigan has joined 13 other states in considering a ban on the pesticide due to growing concerns about links to Parkinson's disease.

These actions complement the Paraquat Prevention Act introduced by @RepLuna and @chelliepingree in Congress last week.
