@JohnSha71679419@SitmanWam7718@TheWazISU@Econ_Marshall sol price didn’t start costco. he started price club. jim sinegal started working for sol when he was a teenager and then started costco 30 years later. then price club ultimately merged with costco. both jim and sam walton borrowed ideas from sol, he invented the entire category
Philips introduced Skylight, a ceiling-mounted LED panel that makes windowless rooms feel like they have a sky-facing window.
It uses Signify’s NatureConnect tech to create the depth, brightness, and color shifts of natural daylight.
@Philips also follows the sun throughout the day, moving from cool morning light to warmer evening tones.
@TheeRespecter@bmitori complete nonsense. she is universally known to be an extraordinarily kind and calm person in real life, the character is her complete opposite. yes, she “created the character out of nothing.” that is called acting.
Must watch indeed.
Why does discussion of AI summon tremendous boos from a crowd of young people?
The speaker references AI-led advances in genomics, astronomy and cancer research, but when he mentions AI’s incursion into the non-science fields the boos rain down.
This is a symptom of the monoculture of AI products we have today. Productivity enhancement as the only outcome of the data center buildout is producing a forced binary of yes/no on AI as a whole.
If we don’t want that to be the end of the story, it will require new products and prototypes that refresh the scifi imaginary and allow people to envision and design futures, use cases and affordances from AI and other emerging technologies that they actually want.
Productivity enhancement is only one answer to the question, “what is AI for?” Renewed agency starts with an invitation to imagine others.
Restless Egg is investing in the creators building from that premise:

@yemurenthusiasm@BarredinDC bout a thousand spots to get banger tacos and burritos around dodgers stadium and you choose chipotle. they should ban you from the ballpark.
@hawillisdc@geminitoofly baked was never in columbia heights. they’ve been in that location on tj for 25 years and had the space for 11 years before that as a graphic design agency.
@squeeler2009@DrMarmadukeNBA@esidery agreed but it’s not a small market team. 9th largest tv market of nba teams and the CSA is the largest population in the country after new york and LA
@joshmhelton@kbadenhausen@WHOOP not really. his cardio is elite (check his peloton rides), he probably has a very large 150+ heart rate reserve, so 105 is pretty low zone 1. dude was as mellow as you can be winning a major.
@DjRodgers1231@ChrisVintinner@kclairerogers agreed re: linearity, but of course pros lose balls. a bunch ended up in rae's creek yesterday and more will today through sunday. freddy put two balls in the drink on 15 and bobby mac carded a 9.
@JenksDC not just DC, i live in LA and it’s the same for dodgers. it is (or at least was 6 years ago) very expensive to license sports packages for showing in a bar in dc.
@AnalyticaCamil1@EthonRaptor “no” only because it is a map showing emissions *only from data centers* so…of course? this is just a map of where data centers are.
@v_semenchenko@karpathy yep, i set up a VM for clawdbot on my m4 max 64gb. issue is that i often close my mbp which kind of defeated the purpose of the always on. i know it’s not the cool thing to say right now, but i haven’t found much use for openclaw beyond the novelty wow factor.
@MaxLiles@somethings_awry i have the original 2013 anova and it still works great after 13 years of regular use. +/-1°f accuracy. why would i need it to be connected to my phone
@AudereGolf @_raymondw @Skratch not going to find much new. i thrift, vintage, ebay, etsy. can i see your designs anywhere? i have many feelings about current golf attire if you’re looking for market feedback!
