the velocity at which ai devs can make $10m in crypto is unprecedented because in many cases the code is already written. they just need to launch a coin, link the github, and hire a fiver designer to make it all look cool.

How I look at the AI Agents sub-metas (chronological order):

NOTE: Just listing tickers of larger cap tokens for reference, not recommendations to buy.

1. Twitter Agents & Replyguys ( $GOAT, $LUNA, #ZEREBRO etc): Cooked, annoying now.

2. Alpha bots / terminals / data analysis ( $AIXBT, $COOKIE , $POLY, $MAICRO etc): Typically no good alpha + alpha decay. Terminals usually not as good as Kaito / Nansen.

3. Frameworks / Launchpads ( #VIRTUAL / $GAME, #AI16Z $ARC #ZEREBRO #PIPPIN $HAT $VVAIFU etc): Meta moved here as Agents got boring + people chasing VIRTUAL beta on the launchpad side.

4. Trading Agents / Investment DAOs ( $vader #sekoia #DaosFun #DaosWorld): Here you're betting on the managers instead of AI.

5. Infra for Computer Use / Memory / Swarm Tech ( $TANK, $FXN , $GRPH ): Basically specialised infra.

6. Web2 Utility: imo just short-term rotation in mid Dec. There are a bunch of small caps doing Insurance, Tax, Lending for example.

7. Jailbreak meta ( $FAI $JAIL #H4CK etc): You try and prompt the AI such that it gives you money for example. Honestly p cool experiments. Or whitehat exploits.

8. DeFi execution via ChatGPT interface, now called “DeFAI” ( #GRIFFAIN $ANON $LMT $BUZZ $PROMPT etc): Hottest narrative right now.

9. Simulation / Metaverse / Gaming, moreso a society of agents thing ( #VIRTUAL $HYPER $BNTY etc): I find the gaming angle less interesting (eg bunch of AI agents in Minecraft), but simulating a society of agents as an experiment is interesting.

10. Robotics - most tokens still incredibly low cap, so won't share here. Many have said 2025 will be the year of Physical AI (eg @friedberg on All-In), but hardware has always been difficult w crypto. @elizawakesup just launched their robot stuff though.

So far it seems like (3) and (5) have been in play for awhile now, while (8) and (9) are brewing.
