@jukan05 My friend. it’s c30% GM and c10% NM company - typical through cycle semis economics. During booms - phones, PCs, you get excess margin. Over 2x now on GM. all excess margins mean revert - competition, innovation, etc. Value is a reflection of ALL future FCF. Focus on FCF/Rev
@DanielSLoeb1@hkanji I think there is a huge difference between @chamath writing WinAmp (awesome MP3 player) back in the day.. where code and features were 99% of the T value to what is in 90% of the terminal value of SAFE II running core banking on a AS400 or SAP’s Nike fluid ABAP reqs
@andrewchen I think @andrewchen, you don’t understand why some use Excel. @sama choice of paper to write on, @ilyasut working on paper for model ideas and @paulg writing essays for public as a means of thinking.. these are the same reasons why some use Excel. It’s not the formulas
@klenoah48@firstadopter@RQA Why did they send troops to die alongside American soldiers in places like Iraq and Afghanistan? Just trying to understand for someone like you, what makes an allie.. or are there none ever?
@Valen10Francois Italian’s have better health, better food, they exercise more, have more fun in their relationships, better intimacy, produce better art across all forms, etc… but then again Italian’s had nearly 3000 years to get there.
American’s are still in their “Roman Empire” phase

@gregoryblotnick@Feanor21021 Talk to a sell side analyst who is associated with that company for a long time. He or she might be useless in delivering directional alpha on a stock call - but after years of lunches with the CFO and dealing with revenue guidance dislocations - they are useful
@FutureJurvetson@nvidia@Tesla Guess which part of the WHOLE of OECD has least friction on employee mobility?
California mastered the art of unshackling employees from non-compete clauses allowing people to leave companies like Freescale and setup companies in similar domains.
Impossible in many other areas
@paulg@massoudmaestro This was your greatest gift when you look at the choices you have made - people like @patrickc are testament to your judgement skills.
I wish you could gift that talent to the others here
@anshublog@levie On it only to realise now you need to operate an internal team to maintain it when your core biz is selling widgets and the open source savings are now a salary cost and key man risk
@anshublog@levie I remember back in the Y2K era when people discovered Visual Basic can be used to build something better than MS Access to replace a AS/400 and ended up with custom code that was unique but resulted in entrapment to few staff? And the LAMP stack when people built custom stuff…
@bennpeifert It’s wild to still see some development economic research pop-up with ure name on it - wait, is that the dude vols dude
Thanks for hard graft back then - I still use ure research papers.
Now, it’s all about comic relief
@rezafarahani_@wolfejosh Before anything was online - my “search” for information/products/etc was different to asking for “expertise/explanation/recommendation”. Maybe there is small venn crossover - but the generative element extends Google Ad TAM
Google makes money by people telling it what they want
@JackFarley96 The secret to this chart is in the contract memory prices. Look up both DDR and HBM memory prices and what’s happening with the oligopoly that supplies them
Systems thinking people - take the 2nd and the 3rd derivative of analysis to skip the crowd
