With no zero-emission gen, Hungary initially had rel. very high emissions, until large 1980s nuclear roll-out halved emissions, further progress in last 15 years, during which prices have increased.

For 2019, non-emit gen.= 56%, emissions = 320 kg/MWh, HH prices = USD$248/MWh

The nuclear fuel cycle in Canada has a pretty small footprint. For @Bruce_Power, whose fuel partner is Cameco, it starts in Cigar Lake, makes a trip to Blind River, and ends in Port Hope. Cigar Lake has the highest grade uranium deposits in the world at a 15.92% average grade. /1

Because many countries around Germany have been closing and will be trying to close their nuclear, German power prices and exports are supported, which will keep the demand for Germany's coal plants high.

They have been kept open in anticipation of this scenario.
