🍂 This Friendsgiving, you’re all invited to our universal table. Here’s what some of our missions are bringing to the potluck.
Take in the spread, then tell us what you’ll be putting on your plate!
STScI received 1,931 proposals for #JWST Cycle 3 – a world record – requesting almost 48,800 hours of observing time. Get more proposal submission statistics: https://t.co/nTtrKWSthg
The ASTRO 3D Centre of Excellence reached 50% women over a five-year time frame by implementing a suite of evidence-based recruitment and retention initiatives. Kewley et al.: https://t.co/eFzR9Ndcng or https://t.co/H98NzQlN6p
I'm hiring a postdoctoral fellow! If you'd like to join the vibrant scientific community at the CfA and work on the interstellar medium, star formation, stellar populations, or the structure and dynamics of the Milky Way/nearby galaxies, please apply! https://t.co/jYzJieD8kV
Capturing the cosmos in a way once thought to be impossible!
Roman will survey the same large region of space repeatedly, allowing scientists to watch a cosmic movie that will reveal new astronomical phenomena!

NASA’s SPHEREx Is Under Construction!👷🏽♀️🧰🔧
The bullhorn-shaped space observatory is being assembled at @NASAJPL for a launch no later than April 2025. The telescope will map 450 million galaxies—and all of its data will be archived at @NASA_IRSA.

Happy Carl Sagan Day ❤️ This video footage is from when our co-founder Carl Sagan, unveiled the Pale Blue Dot image at a press conference on the Voyager missions in 1990. We are grateful to have had Carl for a blip of time on this "mote of dust suspended on a sunbeam." ✨
Welcome to the dazzling edge of darkness!🤩
The first images from #ESAEuclid are here:
razor-sharp, wide & looking far into the distant Universe. A trifecta never before achieved.

The official Twitter announcement finally came through! It is a great honour to be recognised in my home country having returned from abroad after so many years. Thank you @PhysicsNews.
As strange as it feels to post about something as simple as books in these chaotic and violent times, I truly believe that stories are where we access each other’s humanity in times of darkness—to censor them is to lose more than everything: it’s to lose ourselves, which is to say, one another.
.@ESA_Euclid has come to its (fine guidance) senses🥳🤩
The #DarkUniverse detective has found its 'lost' stars as a software patch solves its navigation woes🩹🛰️
Because, how could a mission study the subtle influences of #DarkEnergy and #DarkMatter if the stars look like ... this!?📸

#SPHEREx is a @NASA Medium Explorer mission designed to study cosmic inflation, the evolution of galaxies and structures in the universe, and the trail of water ice in the Milky Way’s interstellar medium. Its data will be processed and archived at @NASA_IRSA.
