This #InclusionTuesday, we highlight how FIDA-Uganda, under the #GenGProject supported by @SonkeTogether, @cehurduganda, @reachahand, is advancing disability-inclusive healthcare in Kapchorwa. 💙 After identifying major access barriers for Persons with Disabilities at Kapchorwa Hospital, especially long wait times and lack of accommodations, we intervened. The result? In the lead-up to the #NationalGenderJusticeDialogue, supported by the Generation Gender project this Thursday, we’re reflecting on powerful moments that have shaped our advocacy journey. One such moment was the #GenderJusticeRun held in 2023 in Kapchorwa. More than just a run, it was a call for equality and a reminder that mental health is a vital gender justice issue. When we run for justice, we also run for healing, for the women, girls, men, and boys whose mental well-being is impacted by discrimination, violence, and inequality; for communities where stigma still silences those in pain. Let’s keep the momentum going. Because justice is not just about laws, it’s about lived experience, dignity, and well-being. 💜 #MentalHealthAwareness #GenGproject

Under the #GenGProject, FIDA-Uganda hosted social accountability forums in Kween District to tackle youth poverty🌱and economic exclusion💡. During the forums, concerns were raised about the unfair distribution of government Youth Livelihood Programme (YLP) funds, with some groups linked to district officials receiving preferential treatment. In response, we worked with local officials to clarify the selection process, leading to two groups receiving YLP funds, which they invested in tailoring and animal rearing. We acknowledge @GovUganda's efforts in transforming lives through the YLP and their commitment to empowering youth. Read more here 🔗: https://t.co/9DOq7cF7k6
