The proposal to operate Vande Bharat via Shiradi Ghat while bypassing Mangaluru is deeply disappointing for Coastal Karnataka.
Mangaluru is not just another stop - it is a major economic hub and a key contributor to Karnataka’s GDP. Excluding it from a premium service sends the wrong message to the entire coastal region.
As a self-propelled trainset, Vande Bharat can negotiate ghat sections more efficiently than conventional trains that require banker attachment/detachment. Coastal passengers rightfully expect a faster and more reliable connection to Bengaluru.
We urge Railways to ensure a truly faster Vande Bharat service that benefits all cities of Coastal Karnataka, without bypassing key economic hubs.
At the same time, developing proper watering facilities at Karwar is essential. Trains should not be forced to operate between Karwar and Vasco/Madgaon merely for watering purposes. Strengthening infrastructure at Karwar will improve operational efficiency and passenger convenience across the region.

There is no need to extend MAO-MAQ MEMU train to Subramanya. As you said, a new MEMU train is much needed from #VASCO to Subramanya. But it's better to run Subramanya via #Padil. There are already 3 trains running from Mangalore to Subramanya Road daily. Therefore, there is no need to run this train(Vasco to Subramanya Road) to Subrahmanya via #Mangalore.

In an unfortunate incident that unfolded on Wednesday, a tempo driver sustained injuries following a collision with a mini-lorry at #Padil. The accident occurred when the tempo was transporting milk and traveling from #BCRoad towards #Mangaluru crossed over the divider and collided with an oncoming mini-lorry.

The incident has garnered significant attention, particularly after a video surfaced on social media depicting Speaker Khader actively engaged in the rescue efforts. This has led to widespread praise for his quick actions and dedication to public service during an emergency.
