This is how #TWAD officials-contractor nexus has been supplying unclean, sewage-like raw water to residents under Kadayanallur–Puliyangudi CWSS till Tuesday morning in the Sattupathu #Thamirabarani riverbed. Instead of using infiltration wells with a porous layer, they have damaged or created holes in the infiltration wells, allowing raw & polluted Thamirabarani river water to enter through a manually dug canal. Surprisingly TWAD Executive Engineer Adi Narayanan had claimed that the impurities in the water will be filtered through the pipeline during transit and chlorination will be carried out before supply. Where have the crores of rupees gone - funds that were allocated and bills passed to contractors - for cleaning and repairing these wells after the December 2023 rains? Residents of Kadayanallur, Puliyangudi and Surandai municipalities, Sambavar Vadakarai and Sundarapandiapuram town panchayats, and more than 100 villages including Kalluthu, Muthukrishnaperi, VK Pudur, Kadaiyalurutti and Chokkampatti receive this raw water under the Kadayanallur–Puliyangudi CWSS. #CleanWater #PublicHealth Three different infiltration wells shown in the video
