The latest video in our partnership with @DGlaucomflecken summarizes the results of the VANISH2 trial, which compared catheter ablation versus antiarrhythmic drug therapy for ventricular tachycardia. View the full article for free: https://t.co/lNgUy836kK
Presented at #AHA24:
Among patients with ventricular tachycardia and ischemic cardiomyopathy, catheter ablation as an initial therapy led to a lower risk of adverse outcomes than antiarrhythmic drug therapy. Read the full VANISH2 trial results: https://t.co/yDFhCI9KNA
Dr. Stuart Connolly was a giant in Canadian cardiology. His impact is felt by millions of patients worldwide. A profoundly meaningful life and legacy. He will be sorely missed. @HamHealthSci@machealthsci@SCC_CCS https://t.co/8dKO9bMMkX
@drjohnm@djc795@f2harrell@CMichaelGibson@GreggWStone@stephensenn Time to first event definitely has its flaws, but some trials of a treatment strategy will have a large number of cross-overs after 1 or more events. And many patients/clinicians would not agree to randomization if they perceive no bailout option.
Follow-up at a median of nearly 14 years showed a survival benefit for patients who received cardiac resynchronization with a defibrillator as compared with those who received a defibrillator alone. Read the full RAFT trial results: https://t.co/BqpxTVC65B
1. Today I presented the late breaking results of our clinical trial examining AF progression after catheter ablation.
This was a long-term follow up of the CIRCA-DOSE population, a group of 356 patients randomised to Contact force RF or Cryoballoon PVI

ICMYI last week at @AHAMeetings! NEW evidence supporting cryoablation reducing the progression of #Afib compared to drug therapy! 75% reduction in the progression to persistent AF with cryoablation! Congratulations @DrJasonAndrade and the EARLY-AF investigators! #EPeeps@NEJM
Please consider taking this medical research survey? It's from a research friend at UBC.
We really need to understand the effect of the pandemic on willingness to help when people see someone with a cardiac arrest:

What a great story, both for this young man and his family, for man's best friend and for emergency services coaching his wife through CPR, leading to a happy ending. Go Ciorsti, great interview
