Another Menlo investor among the top 100 AI VCs! 🎉

Huge congrats to @AmyWuMartin--from investments in @SunoMusic and @HiggsfieldAI to Nectar Social and @altadailyapp Amy is backing the next generation of consumer AI.

Lucky to have her leading the charge for Menlo in NYC!

[Menlo Ventures @MenloVentures]

Excited to see @MenloVentures ranked among the Top 3 AI VC firms in Stanford's latest venture ranking.

Especially proud of our team at Menlo. We've generated nearly as much AI investment value as firms with 2.5x our investment team—and outperformed firms managing more than 10x our capital.

A testament to the incredible people we've brought together, their conviction in the AI opportunity, and the incredible investments they've made.

We’re thrilled to co-lead @TownAI's $108M Series B! 🎉

We’ve met nearly every team building an email assistant. Town did real work from day one, with drafts that already sounded like us. It’s been working across our whole firm since June.

We couldn’t be prouder to back @jgreze and @tonydevincenzi as they change an entire category.

[Harry Stebbings @HarryStebbings]

What Menlo has done over the last 24 months is exceptional.

Yes, they did Anthropic’s round at $4BN that will make them $50BN+ as a firm. NICE!

But they then took that and went f****** hard. They do Lovable, Higgsfield, Legora.

They compounded the brand win of Anthropic to cement their position from respectfully a slightly ageing firm to being a dominant venture leader at the forefront with Thrive, a16z, Benchmark etc.

It is incredible to see and I sat down with @venkyganesan to shoot the s*** on this.

1. Every Seed Investment Is an Option Bet

Seed-stage deals function as financial options to discover true outlier potential before committing major capital. VCs must construct a broad enough portfolio to secure sufficient at-bats, only sizing up their position when quantifiable, revenue-based metrics prove an outlier has emerged.

2. What Is the First Sign of the AI Wave Cracking?

Market cycles rarely collapse due to equity write-downs. They fracture when levered debt defaults occur. When market participants take on heavy leverage during an AI boom, precise timing becomes as critical as being directionally correct, making debt obligations the primary failure vector when cycles turn.

3. Why Every VC Must Now Prioritize IRR

Every startup in the current landscape writes a structural tax to the Mag 7 and hyperscalers for compute and foundation models. Because LPs can buy index exposure to those same public tech giants without fees or carry, private VCs must generate outsized IRR performance, beating public markets by at least 1,000 basis points, to justify private capital allocation.

4. Why LPs Wanting Smaller Funds and Slower Deployment Is BS

LPs cannot demand both smaller fund sizes and multi-year deployment paces in the middle of a generational platform shift. Because AI startups face immense capital requirements to scale compute, VC firms that refuse to deploy capital rapidly will watch competitors step in and capture the category winners.

5. The Theory of Reflexivity and How It's Causing Markups

Reflexivity creates self-reinforcing loops where fast revenue growth triggers rapid valuation markups, attracting elite human and financial capital that further accelerates growth. However, when copycat investors chase markups for momentum rather than underlying fundamentals, reflexive valuation bubbles inflate until market realities force an inevitable correction.

6. Sometimes You Pay Up Because You Have Unique Insight

Premium entry prices are not always the result of irrational bidding. They often stem from an investor's ability to recognize a fundamentally larger total addressable market than the consensus. When a VC possesses unique conviction around an expanding market opportunity, paying above current rates reflects calculated foresight rather than price-taking behavior.

7. There's No Limit to What a Person Can Do as Long as They Don't Care Who Gets the Credit

Personal ego remains one of the most expensive liabilities in venture capital and company building. True long-term success requires setting aside individual notoriety, focusing ruthlessly on generating LP returns, and empowering teammates and founders without worrying about who receives the public credit.

Menlo’s 2026 State of Consumer AI report is here.

The headline: adoption barely moved this year, but global spend tripled to $40B and existing users went deeper.

55% of AI users now pay for at least one product

25% of Americans use AI every day
The story isn't how many people have tried AI. It's what happens as the relationship deepens across time, money, tasks, and autonomy.

Menlo’s @mmurph sat down with @HarryStebbings on @20vcFund for a wide-ranging conversation on how Menlo thinks about venture right now — from leading @AnthropicAI's early rounds when the opportunity didn't fit any playbook, to backing @Lovable, @WeAreLegora, @WisprFlow, & @OpenRouter as they redefine what's possible in AI-native software and infrastructure. Matt breaks down the barbell strategy behind it: going earlier at seed, bigger at growth, and why ownership matters less than it used to in an era of outlier outcomes. 🧵

[Jon Wang @_JonWang]

Today we raised a $120M Series C at a $1.2B valuation, led by @MenloVentures.

We now have over $220M to become the standard for how healthcare providers transform the patient journey with AI.

As a medical student at UCSF, I watched patients fall through the cracks for reasons that had nothing to do with medicine.

Healthcare has spent decades improving clinical outcomes, yet patients were still repeating their story, navigating disconnected systems, and too often giving up before they got the care they needed.

I couldn't accept that patients spent more time on hold than with their doctors. It felt like one of the biggest unsolved problems in healthcare.

So I left to build @assort_health.

Our first chapter was learning how complex each practice's care protocols really are. It took us months to build a single agent.

That's why we built Synapse, our agentic model. It gets sharper with every edge case it sees, and with 190M+ patient interactions behind it, no one's model has seen more. That's what lets non-technical people build agents in weeks, even for the most complex workflows, with industry-leading automation rates.

This is how we grew revenue 20x in 15 months, as leading providers chose the one platform proven to handle the complexity of healthcare workflows at scale.

But this was always meant to be just the first chapter.

The first interaction isn't only where care begins. It's where patient context is created. Get that right, and every step after becomes easier.

Today we're a platform for the whole journey. Our AI agents answer calls, schedule appointments, manage referrals, complete intake, refill medications, reach patients proactively, and collect payments, all personalized to each patient.

Grateful to @jpsanday, Matt Murphy and the team at Menlo Ventures for leading, and to @lightspeedvp, @felicis, First Round Capital, Chemistry, @QuietCapital, and Joe Montana for backing us again. To the Assort team: none of this happens without your relentless focus and care. Fired up to build Healthcare that Remembers alongside you. Still Day One.

[Jeff Liu @_jeff_liu]

Today we're announcing a $120 million Series C led by Menlo Ventures , bringing Assort Health's total funding to $222 million and our valuation to $1.2 billion.

The number is a milestone. But it was never the point.

Growing up, I was a patient transport volunteer. I helped people physically get to appointments and navigate a healthcare system that often didn't make sense to them. For some, simply having someone there to help made all the difference.

Helping one patient get the care they needed was rewarding.
But it was one person at a time.

That experience has stayed with me. It's why Assort exists: to make exceptional healthcare accessible anytime, anywhere, for anyone, and to reach as many patients as possible.

This funding is fuel for that mission.

Every call, text, referral, form, appointment, and outreach creates context.

Without Assort, context gets lost.

Patients repeat themselves. Staff become the glue between systems that don't talk. Follow-ups slip. People fall through the cracks. Care gets delayed.

Not because healthcare lacks information.
Because it lacks continuity.

What started as an AI agent answering phone calls has grown into a platform that schedules appointments, manages referrals, completes intake, proactively reaches patients, and helps healthcare organizations run the operational work for every visit.

The part that matters most is that every interaction builds on the last.
We call this Patient Journey Memory: turning disconnected touchpoints into one continuous conversation, so patients don't have to start over every step.

Our brand film says it simply: Healthcare That Remembers.

With this funding, we'll reach far more patients, serve many more healthcare organizations, keep building the product, and bring exceptional people onto the team.

One full-circle detail: in the cofounder-dating questionnaire Jon Wang and I filled out before starting Assort, I wrote that building a company worth $100 million would be an incredible outcome. We've now passed that by more than 10x.

It's a surreal milestone, and a reminder that the problem and opportunity are far bigger than we thought.

None of this is ours alone. To the customers and partners who trusted us early, challenged our thinking, and shaped Assort: thank you. You took a chance on a young company, held us to a very high standard, and made us better than we could have become on our own.

To @jpsanday and @mmurph from Menlo Ventures and all new and returning investors: thank you for believing in our team and our mission.

And to the Assort team: building AI systems in healthcare is hard. Building them in a way that patients trust and healthcare organizations rely on every day is even harder. Thank you for how much you care, how hard you push, and the standard you continue to set.

We're still early. There are more patients to reach and a lot to build. That's why we're excited.

Come help make healthcare remember every patient. We're hiring. DM me!

[Jean-Paul (JP) Sanday @jpsanday]

Healthcare is adopting AI faster than anything I've seen. The reason: it's finally letting providers do what they went into medicine to do. And patients are getting the experience they've always deserved but rarely received.

We're excited to be part of this next chapter!

[Menlo Ventures @MenloVentures]

Thrilled to double down on @suno's $400M round, after leading its Series C last fall!

Suno is making creation itself a form of entertainment. Millions of songs generated every day.

This is the broader Menlo thesis: AI won't just change how content is produced, it'll change how people spend their time.

We see it with Suno in music, @higgsfield_ai in video, @Lovable in solopreneurship, and @AnthropicAI across it all.

Congrats to @MikeyShulman, @GeorgKucsko, @fut_ure, and the whole Suno team. More from @amywumartin: https://t.co/bqV6L82HF4

We are thrilled to celebrate @Anthropic's $65B Series H at a $965B post-money valuation. Anthropic is Menlo's single largest and highest-conviction investment in our 50-year history — and it's not even close. This round marks our largest single investment in any round since our partnership began.

Our relationship with @AnthropicAI, goes way back:
→ Invested in their Series C, 2023 — PRE-launch, PRE-revenue
→ Led their Series D, 2024
→ Significant backers in every round since
→ And in July 2024, co-launched the $100M Anthology Fund with them to seed the next generation of AI-native companies

Three years into this partnership, we continue to be blown away by everything they've built.

$47B+ run-rate revenue. 40%+ enterprise LLM market share. Claude Opus 4.8 launching today. Web traffic from 16M → 290M monthly visits in 13 months. Enterprise AI and consumer AI. Both.

Congratulations to @DarioAmodei, @DanielaAmodei. and the entire Anthropic team. You are building one of the most important companies of our generation.

[Nourish @nourish]

We’re excited to share that Nourish has raised a $100M Series C, bringing our total funding to $215M 🚀

The round was led by @MenloVentures, with participation from @ThriveCapital, @IndexVentures, @ycombinator, @jpmorgan Growth Equity Partners, Maverick Ventures, @BoxGroup, @atomico, @daybreak_fund, and Operator Partners.

Nearly 200 million Americans live with nutrition-related chronic conditions, yet care today is expensive, reactive, fragmented, and doesn't make people healthier. Nourish has built the AI-native metabolic care model to change that - driving the personalized behavior and lifestyle change that deliver real clinical outcomes at a low cost and great patient experience.

In just four years, Nourish has grown to 10,000+ Registered Dietitians - the largest in the country - completed millions of appointments, and more than tripled year-over-year. Nourish has partnered with hundreds of the nation’s leading health plans to provide broad access for more than 200 million covered lives. Nourish has tens of thousands of providers from over 250 health systems referring hundreds of thousands of patients to Nourish’s care model.

Most importantly, we’re helping patients get healthier:
- 8% average weight loss
- 1.3-point average A1C reduction
- 31-point average LDL reduction
- 23-point average systolic blood pressure reduction

This next chapter will help us grow our clinical network, accelerate investment in AI agents for patients and providers, continue building a metabolic health clinic centered around real patient outcomes, and deepen partnerships with health plans, employers, and health systems.

Thank you to our patients, providers, partners, and team for helping make this possible🧡
