The public deserves transparency. Alaska Native communities deserve meaningful consultation. America's Arctic deserves accountability.
Thank you @RepHuffman and @SenatorHeinrich for requesting key info related to the fast-tracked rulemaking process for Alaska's Western Arctic!
DOI’s decision to open the Coastal Plain of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge for oil and gas drilling is, at best, misguided and, at worst, catastrophic. The protection of this place, its Porcupine caribou herd, and most importantly, the Gwich’in people, has always been historically bipartisan. This is foolish. The Arctic Refuge should not be for sale to the highest bidder.
This #HHM I celebrate the organizers who had a vision of what queer liberation could look like. Their work shaped what LGBTQ+ activism is for Latinos. Thank you Laura Esquivel. Struggle continues🌈 @lauramesquivel#QueerLatinxHistory#LatinosUnidos#GLLU

#BREAKINGNEWS: The California State Senate has approved Gov. Gavin Newsom's redistricting plan, which would redraw the congressional map to slash five Republican-held House seats.
The matter now heads to Newsom, who is expected to sign. https://t.co/8E1RbMA0si
MAJOR ENDORSEMENT FOR THE BARK ACT: we’ve won the support of “Mayor Simon,” NYC’s official Dog Mayor, for the BARK Act, our legislation to feed hungry shelter pets.
Let’s pass this bi-paw-tisan bill with no barking or biting. My conversation with Mayor Simon (and @svershbow):
“In the long history of this committee, we’ve never seen a bill this environmentally destructive,” – @RepHuffman. We need our leaders to pass gov’t funding bills that protect our public lands & #ProtectTheArctic.
Grand Canyon, Teton, Zion, Olympic – the list goes on. A new bill from @SteveDaines puts 63+ national parks on the line by opening up the surrounding #PublicLands to leasing for oil and gas profit. Our parks are NOT FOR SALE – we need Congress to #ProtectOurParks
Ranking Member @RepHuffman welcomes the newest Democratic members of the House Natural Resources Committee!
"Together, we will tackle the urgent challenges of our time by moving forward real solutions to lower costs for American families, fight the climate crisis, and ensure everyone can experience the majesty of our public lands and waters."
Hilcorp, an oil company that bid on a lease sale in AK’s Cook Inlet, has a record of spills and safety violations. Earthjustice challenged the lease sale in court and won. Alaska's coast deserves better. https://t.co/Q3tXvJw6WB
JUST IN: The first Tribally nominated national marine sanctuary, the #ChumashSanctuary, will be designated! This coastal California wonder is home to southern otters🦦, leatherback sea turtles🐢, blue whales🐋 https://t.co/Y23hZFhfPO

Trump says he would rather spend the day with Melania for her birthday but he has to be in court.
Trump is literally in court because he enjoyed cheating on Melania.
Friends -
Thank you to those who have reached out with blessings and well wishes since my cancer diagnosis. I am grateful to have had the support of family, friends, and medical professionals throughout this difficult period.
Today, I'm happy to share that I've finished my cancer treatment for now and continue working to get physically stronger. My ability to travel to Washington, D.C. is subject to clearance from my doctors, and they are optimistic about that timeline.
Meanwhile, throughout my treatment, I've been working hard to secure federal funds for our district – we just announced a $23.5 million grant for Douglas, secured $12.5 million in House appropriations for the Nogales IOI pipeline, and we're getting ready to announce that our efforts obtained nearly $12 million for community projects for AZ-07 communities.
I also continue to be actively engaged on border issues, and recently offered an amendment that would cut wasteful border wall spending and instead put funding toward humanitarian services, fentanyl scanners, Port of Entry modernization, and fixing the CBP One mobile application process.
I greatly appreciate all of the support you've given me and know that I will continue fighting for you and all of those I represent in Southern Arizona.

A small group of extreme Members of Congress are attempting to dismantle America’s most beloved public lands, roll back key efforts to safeguard landscapes, and put industry profits over conservation. Read more about the Antiparks Caucus: https://t.co/bTTTzOeWlh
