@lastnotlost Yes, agreed. It works at the moment as there's a central island so a ped can cross in two stages safely even if buses blocking visibility. Goes to consultation as next stage though so I'm sure they'll fix any issues that are raised π¬
@lastnotlost There's a shared path that was built a couple of years ago or so on the South side of Jubilee Way from LIDL to Kingston Rd. The new signals there need rebuilding to get you from the North path to the South side. Heading W/bound to say Tolworth station will mean crossing road 4x
@lastnotlost @citycyclists π² good news (tho only for 6 months until it's overgrown again as it appears no one is taking ongoing responsibility still π€¦)
@nuttyxander@lastnotlost @citycyclists TfL used to sort it but with budget cuts, they are leaving it to @wandbc who are supposed to be actually responsible. I have a complaint open with @wandbc about it. It's passed the 20 days with no response so trying (but struggling!) to get it escalated
@lastnotlost @WandsLS @wandscycling@KingstonCycling@wandbc One of the slip roads has a c.50cm wide shared path at the moment due to vegetation. Reported to @wandbc in September and according to TfL definitely Wandsworth's to fix...
@lastnotlost @WandsLS @wandscycling@KingstonCycling Maps don't add much. Even with TfL answer, still unclear who is best to chase on clearing the A3 paths (TfL state they do adhhoc clearance works whilst @wandbc ignore clearance requests when it appears to be their responsibility). A FOI for Wandsworth perhaps...
@FocusNorbiton Good the road safety issues have at least been acknowledged. Shame the spare road space on London Road is being used for a car turning lane though rather than using it for a wider bus stop boarder (or adding a bus stop bypass) for the Cycleway. Can get congested at the bus stop
@LeighGravenor @KingstonCycling@HilaryGander Due to be an off peak, limited time, goods vehicle loading bay there. Signage still to be installed and suspect TMO needs to be done still too. Cars will hopefully disappear when it becomes enforceable
@davidkcowie The two ends are different boroughs and have chosen different approaches to parking but yes, the boundary also coincides with a change in predominant housing stock type
Lovelace Road, Surbiton. One end of the road is in Elmbridge and has parking restrictions (& grass verges), the other is in Kingston and has parking bays (& no grass). Striking difference
@stephenpassmore Any big problems you found with 10&11 please? Planning to do those soon but still 'stung' by the memories of the 6ft high nettles across one section 5 path a couple of months ago! π³
Rapid charger update: Sadly @TfL have decided that, despite getting planning approval to move it, moving the charger on the A3 in Wandsworth off the shared walking & cycling path would reduce space for car parking π² & it's therefore better to leave it where it isβΉοΈ @wandscycling
Good news. Rapid charger in Wandsworth on LCN 3 shared cycle/ped path to be moved. Thanks @tfl for admitting it was put in an inappropriate place. https://t.co/LOBzEQyjFp
@CarolineRussell @Lakerlikes @Wandscyclist
Shared pedestrian/cycle path width reduced from c.3m to c.1.75m with 5 new bits of street furniture. On LCN 3. Permanent space reduction for active travel. Thanks @TfL
One year on, the rapid charger continues to narrow the shared path but @TfL have obtained planning application for it to be moved to a build out in the layby π Hopefully it gets moved soon!
@ShamrockSoup @RantyHighwayman @psimonk@London_Cycling@KingstonCycling@EmilyJDavey@RBKingston FYI, King Charles Rd will be permanent closure (no ANPR) as councillors weren't happy with emergency services' generic responses given they could see ANPR has certain disadvantages and also none of the 20 historic LTNs in the Borough have them.
@JohnBowman1210@LordBikebot@marksuttonbike @RantyHighwayman @TfL Rapid charger quite often used by taxis on the way in to London. The parking bays seem to be used by the nearby houses with too many cars for their off street spaces
