@mitchellh@WilliamsonMark Well said. It isn’t just young or old that suffer. Everyone does. When then iPhone came out it was a while before it became available here in Australia, so the message was this was a simple computer for everyone. I was so disappointed at how complicated it still was.

Watching the inauguration of @realDonaldTrump to Make America Great Again from Australian's Snowy Mountains via @Starlink . Thanks @elonmusk. @PeterDutton_MP Your time to Make Australia Great Again.
@therabbithole@elonmusk The most uncomfortable truth is that the evolution of consciousness separated us from our cooperative, selfless and loving instinct. The result is the Human Condition - our species fundamental insecurity of are we Good or Bad. See https://t.co/NsROIKxW6r the uncomfortable truth.

@ElonMusk in his brilliant interview with @AndrewrSorkin describes his Resignation when he was 12 to being overwhelmed by the depressing issue of the human condition & his “hope to expand our consciousness & find the meaning of life, where we come from, where we’re going, such that we are able to wake up in the morning excited with hope”. Well man oh man, have we got the answers for him at https://t.co/GJAR3QlIdc, especially in Freedom Essay 30 about Resignation (https://t.co/VfFccohvgW).
This is the transcript of that part of the interview (at 22 minutes): “I did have this existential crisis when I was around 12 about what’s the meaning of life, isn’t it all pointless, why not just commit suicide, why exist? I read the religious texts, I read the philosophy books, especially the German philosophy books made me quite depressed frankly. One should not read Schopenhauer and Nietzsche as a teenager. But then I read Douglas Adams’s ‘Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’ which is a book on philosophy in the form of humour and the point that Adams was making there was that we don’t actually know what questions to ask, that’s why he said the answer is 42; like it’s a giant computer and he came up with the answer is 42. But to actually figure out what the question is that’s the hard part … If we can expand our consciousness … find out the meaning of life … where do we come from, where are we going? Are there aliens? … find the meaning of man … There has to be reasons why you wake up in the morning excited, what gives you hope?”
