Bearded computational scientist @INL researching nuclear materials. @ANS_org social media team. @CentraleLyon alumn. Opinions my own, RTs are not endorsement.
New paper alert!!
Sharing our brand new paper is probably the best way to celebrate my one year anniversary at @INL
We modeled silver diffusion at the mesoscale in TRISO particles to improve engineering scale predictions for future reactors.

Lisa recommends looking for champions in industry as an international student and knowing about the company structure when having conversations with them to evaluate how you and your range of skills and experiences could fit in their mission.

I want to thank @ENERGY for funding the project through NEAMS, my amazing co-authors, and the lower length scale and Bison groups at @INL
For their help and support!

Based on atomistic simulations, we developed a mechanistic, microstructure-dependent effective diffusion coefficient for Silver in Silicon Carbide!
We then validated our model using silver release fractions experimentally measured from TRISO particles irradiated in AGR-1.
Want to learn how to effectively tell your story and share the love about Nuclear?
Sign up for this seminar! @RiverBennett, @EmmaRedfoot, and @charlyneamsmith have a lot in store for you!
You don’t win crucial games by putting one of your best players on the bench. U.S. reactors avoided more emissions in 2019 than all other clean energy sources combined.
Excellent animation by @EnergyEcoLogic1! Nuclear produces more electricity per square foot than ANY other energy source. All of it is emissions-free BTW...
Félicitations ! Amplement mérité ! @CentraleLyon m'avait attribué un statut de sportif de haut niveau et m'avait donné plus de flexibilité dans mon emplois du temps. Ça m'avait permis de vivre à fond mes saisons d'escrime !
Jean Paul Allain is using advancements in nanotechnology and materials science to improve plasma-facing materials; this research could lead to materials that self-heal for use in fusion devices @Penn_State#EarlyCareer https://t.co/VEE2wzJ5NA
Highlights (2/2):
•Kinetics and equilibrium microstructure are influenced by the elastic scheme.
•Grand potential assumptions restrict the use of a composition-dependent elastic term.
Check out our latest paper on the effects of introducing elasticity using different interpolation schemes to the grand potential phase field model, published in Computational Materials Science!!

The model's predictions could depend on the elastic scheme.
Highlights (1/2):
• The KHS model is recommended over the VTS model.
•The excess energy at the interface is smaller with the KHS than with the VTS model.
•The excess elastic energy increases proportionally with the interfacial thickness.
I'm PC! PhD candidate in Nuclear Materials Science @GradSchoolPSU ! Love: fencing, running, hiking, and art!
2. during Q, I learned how to paint on my ipad, started playing Go, and finished/published a paper! 🥳

YES @AOC! I appreciate she mentions that nuclear can contribute to a low carbon future. I heavily emphasize that she mentions there has to be community input and new tech has to be vetted. If nuclear incorporates community input and builds where appropriate, it will be a win-win!
