elon says lilly has "some banger drugs coming out." nobody named one. here's lilly's own list: a daily glp-1 pill already approved, a weekly insulin just approved, a retatrutide fda filing planned for early 2027.
weekly shot or daily pill: which would you actually stick with?
a16z just dropped its State of Longevity report. the peptide section, line by line:
>> GLP-1s like semaglutide, tirzepatide and orforglipron are the approved class that started all of this
>> BPC-157, melanotan II and other unapproved peptides are riding that wave
>> their words: enthusiasm has outpaced the actual evidence
>> buying from unregulated suppliers raises questions about what's actually in the vial
>> HHS's draft interim policy eases enforcement on 6 compounded peptides, but none of them are FDA approved
>> the entire compounded peptide market: single-digit billions
>> tirzepatide alone: nearly $44B in the first 9 months of 2026
so where does the money go next: new FDA-approved peptide drugs, or the compounded menu?
@a16z State of Longevity report is out!
@evajsteinman and I surveyed 500 Americans to predict what's next.
We're also interviewing people at the cutting edge of health & tech about what they do themselves. My interview with @hubermanlab is out today. https://t.co/CApCjv8xv9
the wearables part pairs with this. 54% of the people surveyed wear one, 83% of them check it daily, and 55% say the data never changed a habit or sent them to a doctor. logging only matters if someone reads it back.
