महोदय,

सविनय निवेदन है कि We Banker Staff Association, Rajasthan की ओर से यह विनम्र अनुरोध प्रस्तुत किया जा रहा है कि दिनांक 21 अक्टूबर 2025 (मंगलवार) को राजस्थान राज्य में कार्यरत सभी बैंकों हेतु Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 के अंतर्गत सार्वजनिक अवकाश घोषित किया जाए।

उक्त तिथि दीपावली पर्व के अगले दिन आती है, जो कि परंपरागत रूप से गोवर्धन पूजा और व्यापारी समुदाय के नववर्ष के रूप में मनाई जाती है। यह दिन न केवल धार्मिक आस्था का प्रतीक है बल्कि सामाजिक और आर्थिक दृष्टि से भी अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण है। इस दिन राज्यभर में व्यापारिक प्रतिष्ठान, कार्यालय, तथा वित्तीय लेनदेन से संबंधित संस्थान बंद रहते हैं।

बैंकिंग सेवाओं से जुड़े कर्मचारी वर्ग भी इस दिन पारिवारिक, सांस्कृतिक ��वं सामाजिक परंपराओं में सहभागिता करना चाहता है। इसके साथ ही, इस दिन को हम बैंक कर्मी अपने संगठनात्मक एकता, सौहार्द और सेवा भावना के रूप में मनाना चाहते हैं।

इन तथ्यों को दृष्टिगत रखते हुए यह उचित होगा कि दिनांक 21.10.2025 को Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 के अंतर्गत राजस्थान राज्य में समस्त बैंकों हेतु अवकाश घोषित किया जाए।

आपसे सादर अनुरोध है कि इस संबंध में आवश्यक आदेश पारित करने की कृपा करें। आपका यह निर्णय न ���ेवल बैंक कर्मचारियों के सामाजिक-धार्मिक जीवन में संतुलन स्थापित करेगा, बल्कि उनके मनोबल और एकजुटता को भी सुदृढ़ करेगा।

Subject: Request for Urgent Intervention to Address Exploitation, Work Overload, and Inhumane Treatment of Bank Officers

Respected Sir/Madam,

On behalf of the All India We Bankers Officers Association, we are compelled to bring to your immediate attention the grave and worsening situation faced by thousands of bank officers across the country.

Every day, our members are subjected to:

Excessive and unjust workload pressures, often far beyond legal and human limits.

Inhumane behaviour, humiliation, and coercion by higher officials and management.

Denial of basic work–life balance, with long hours and mounting stress.

These practices have created a toxic and unsafe work environment. Tragically, the unbearable pressure and systematic harassment have led to multiple confirmed suicides of bank officers in recent years. These are not isolated incidents but the direct consequences of sustained managerial coercion, unrealistic targets and a complete failure of employer duty of care — a national shame that demands immediate, independent investigation and criminal as well as administrative accountability where warranted. Such preventable loss of life requires urgent corrective action from your Ministry.

We earnestly seek the Ministry’s urgent intervention and request the following:

1. Immediate independent inquiry into working conditions, workload norms, harassment, and the circumstances surrounding recent suicides among bank officers.

2. Strict enforcement of labour laws to curb excessive working hours, coercion, intimidation, and any punitive practices by management.

3. Issuance of binding guidelines to ensure fair workload distribution, humane treatment and respect for employees’ dignity across all banks.

4. Constitution of a robust grievance redressal mechanism under the Ministry’s supervision with whistleblower protections and time-bound resolution.

5. Mandatory employee welfare, mental-health screening and counseling programs, and crisis support hotlines for all bank staff.

6. Accountability measures to ensure officers or officials found responsible for harassment or coercion face appropriate disciplinary or legal action.
We reiterate that bank officers perform critical functions that sustain the nation’s economy. Allowing management practices that drive employees to despair and death is unacceptable. We request your good offices to treat this matter with the utmost urgency and to take immediate remedial measures to protect lives, rights and dignity of all bank officers.

वाह मोदीजी वाह। बैंकर्स के लिए अमृतकाल की पराकाष्ठा चल रही। कॉरपोरेट मित्रों को सुविधाएं पहुंचाने में सबसे आगे, लेकिन बैंक कर्मचारियों के हितों से पीछे भागे।

एक कर्मचारी के खाते से रूपये वापस छिनने का जो अपराध भारतीय बैंक ने किया है, उसका हर्जाना भारतीय बैंक को भरना ही होगा।
