Launched Bengaluru’s first-ever Mobility-as-a-Service apps, @tummoc4u and @nammayatri, developed under the Enroute Open Data Startup Challenge by Mercedes-Benz Research & Development India and @WRIIndia.
These apps integrate multiple modes of transport from metro and BMTC buses to autos and cabs, making it easier for commuters to plan their entire trip from first mile to last. No more app-hopping, just one interface to discover, book and pay.
This is made possible by BMTC and BMRCL opening up their open data GTFS resources to our innovators. Solutions like Tummoc and Namma Yatri are now able to plug in live bus and metro routes, giving commuters better information and flexibility.
Today, less than 50% of trips in Bengaluru happen via public transport. Our goal is to take this to 70% by 2030 by doubling down on smart and sustainable mobility.

Incredible @Reuters graphic - in the early 70s, more than 68% of Bengaluru was covered in vegetation. By late 90s, the city's green cover had dropped to around 45% and by 2021 to less than 3% of its total area | https://t.co/PYnkFCe5ZX via @DevjyotGhoshal@tweetsfromnivi
During the Bangalore floods, an area that was badly affected was Outer Ring Road i.e ground zero of tech companies.
In all the footage, you'll notice a red skywalk appear again and again.
There's a story behind this skywalk.
And it's a metaphor for the city's urban governance.
Got nothing to promote, except, since we are talking about music hackjobs, I made The Beatles sing Taher Shah's viral song Eye To Eye using OpenAI's Jukebox. 🙉https://t.co/B3Q1pNJDYA
