A biologist trying to understand how cells make decisions, thinking one molecule at a time. Fascinated by all things RNA. Loves to share the excitement.
If you love DNA-PAINT but also love to complain about how slow it can be...look no further than this paper from the Jungmann lab! And I already have independent confirmation that it works as described!
@IgorUlitsky @ACDbio Hi Igor, I'm going through some very similar issues myself (with pricing, nothing to do with tissue in FISH). did you solve this issue? I'm road testing a few options and will let you know...
Dear RNA twitter, I usually use Stellaris 48x20mer probes for smFISH but now need to target smaller RNA regions (>200nt). I guess bDNA technology is the tool. Any experience with RNAscope ViewRNA, others etc?... thanks

Excellent insight and thoughts on grant statistics from my very own post-doc @dezeraecox. Someone I can vouch is thoughtful and considered. A must read!
A new month means a new issue! On the cover in October - V5-tagged Apolipoprotein L9 stably expressed in B16F10 mouse melanoma cells. Find out what else is inside: https://t.co/bBaCooYEbN
@pstansfeld @RobKlose @OxBiochNews @WarwickLifeSci congratulations! I never really worked with you phill, but have fond memories of failing to defend against you at biochem 5-a-side. good luck!
PhD opportunity in our group. Wide range of questions re neural circuits for learned and unlearned behaviour. Fully funded options for students from anywhere in the world, amazing scientific environment at @MRC_LMB and close collaboration with @flyconnectome@CamZoology. Pls RT!
Dear Aus twitter, I'm looking for a dox-inducible Hela Cell line with a single integration site, such as HeLa-EM2-11ht, or HeLa Flp-In T-REx. Rather than fly one over from afar, does anyone have a spare vial here in Aus (or nearby)? will happily pay for courier! please RT! Thx
Two brilliant papers (one older, one new) from the Larson group that take us from single molecule quantitative RNA imaging, to a novel mechanism in cancer progression.
Gosh. It's almost as if basic biology is useful...

Delighted and honoured to be part of this! Can't wait to speak about the future (imperfect!) of cell biology, and how it can help us in a future with limited pharmaceuticals... Bring on the #cellrevolution! @SingMolSci @UNSWMedicine
